Per nationwide tour's web page. Web.com will try to expand the small and medium sized business sponsorships to increase purses. With the new q school rules for next year, the web.com tour is the primary way for pros to break into the pga tour.

Nobody is going to call this thing the web.com tour. It'll be the Nationwide Tour to everyone that's not in the media

I think its a 12 year deal...so the name will catch on eventually. Especially now that you have to go through the web.com tour for a year to get to the pga in most all cases. Q school next year won't graduate anyone straight to the pga tour. Instead 50 new members of the pga tour will come from the web.com tour starting in 2013.

At the end of the season the top 75 web.com players and no. 126-200 pga players will play in 4 tournies. Top 50 make pga.

Last I heard, they wanted 5. They want to keep open an avenue for college stars, but mainly, for the guys that have played the Tour their whole lives and had a down season.

Personally, I like the change and think everyone should have to play the Nationwide for a year.

I agree. The tour is a grind that amatuers have no experience in. Nationwide players are legit. Its good to do a year and get used to the grind and have a better chance of success instead of getting smoked and burnt out missing cuts in the pga.

Do you think wittinberg (sp) gets a battlefield promotion? 15 tourneys to do it. Any insight on how that would effect the rest of the field? Would he be one of the 25? Or would everyone move up a spot?

I don't think Casey wins another. He could get Springfield though.

And he counts towards the 25. They moved everyone up once, when Gore won 3. Which is why Bubba should thank Gore every time he sees him
