The pops recently bought a 26ft Scarab Sportster, center console/offshore type, and we both would prolly do more inshore fishing than offshore. Would a power pole be a good investment since a trolling motor is out of the question??

If so, what size?

It's just a shallow water anchor. You need a trolling motor cuz.

I think he means no trolling motor because it's a high side offshore boat.

Well then they're dumb for buying that for inshore fishing. Not practical at all.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. Idk how they're going to position that thing without messing up the spot.

This is it. Not a super deep hull, but i think shallow enough to go some places inshore....

It's fine for inshore if you had a trolling motor to position the boat with. It wasn't made for that kind of fishing though.

I use two Stick it Anchor Pins. One on the from, one on the back. Works so damn perfect that I can't imagine it took me 20 years of fishing to realize how kick arse they are. Cost? Bout $200 for both.

ETA: that's a fine and HUGE rig. That truck looks tiny.

He bought it because a friend was selling it cheap and he just wanted another boat I guess. Now he wants to go fishing in it and we are kinda limited to where we can go bc there isnt really a place to put a trolling motor in the front.

It is an offshore boat that he wants to use to catch specs with my little brothers, basically.

im trying to tell you, you can put a bow mounted trolling motor on that. put the boat in the water. Take a tape measure from the front of the bow to the water. Minn kota makes custom shaft lengths for applications just like this
