I've never owned a watercraft before, so any tips/advice would be appreciated.

Single rider
Looking to spend about $2,500
Get up to about 55 mph
For use in local fresh water lakes (Missouri)

Any tips on makes & models to look for or avoid, or other issues I should be aware of is appreciated. TIA.

Win the lottery and that might cover the amount of money you'll have to spend in repair bills

Just understand you are joining a fraternity as old as parachute pants and leg warmers. An august assemblage of douches and scumbags beloved only by their mothers. Everyone else on the water in everything that floats from a kayak to a super yacht won't want you anywhere near them because of the implied brain damage and lack of nautical knowledge your mighty annoying steed will indicate like an enormous neon sign.

Luckily, your chances of killing yourself in the simple act of approaching a dock are enormous!

Enjoy!

The only way to salvage your dignity for even wanting to own a PWC is to buy a fricking wetbike. Things're boss.

They are incredibly fun to ride and consequently dangerous as frick.

ETA: Lucky for you there are TWO for sale at around your budget. Oh shite yea, please invite me over so I can another scar. It's been a while since I've had one.

ebay auction with 2 of them
