House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa made the following statement after his meeting with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder:
“I had hoped that after this evening’s meeting I would be able to tell you that the Department had delivered documents that would justify the postponement of tomorrow’s vote on contempt. The Department told the Committee on Thursday that it had documents it could produce that would answer our questions. Today, the Attorney General informed us that the Department would not be producing those documents. The only offer they made involved us ending our investigation.
“While I still hope the Department will reconsider its decision so tomorrow’s vote can be postponed, after this meeting I cannot say that I am optimistic. At this point, we simply do not have the documents we have repeatedly said we need to justify the postponement of a contempt vote in committee.”

Holder..."they rejected what I thought was an extraordinary offer on our part".  Sounds like Ahmadinejad trying to stall for his nuke.
Issa will go ahead with the vote...good for him. Enough of this crap.

So Holder offered to "brief" the committee on the documents, but not actually hand over the documents? Well shite that certainly passes the smell test to me

Holder sure isn't winning any PR with his actions he must either think that he had scrubber all the files clean or knows that producing any more documents will just open a can of worms. This also makes it harder for Boehner to turn his back on this...

I don't know how the technology works, that stores those e-mails...or even the Law re *accidental* loss of the pertinent ones; but you can bet good money that Holder will do WHATEVER he has to do to keep those conversations from the eyes of the public. They'd go straight to Obama.
Holder will go under the bus, for the team. That is the best kind of justice we'll get. But I doubt that we'll ever see those mails; at least not without those little black boxes throughout.
And Scooter Libby served time. Dirtiest bunch to ever hold power!

You and I both know this has to be about gun control, and that had to start at the top of the DOJ or higher. They will do whatever they have to keep a lid on this monster, but with whistleblowers talking and turning over documents time might be running out. With Holder staying in office it appears that the administration is going all in and hoping to push this off till after the election or is going to ride it till it crashes...
