I have the Lincoln like KR. I love it.
Glad to hear it. That makes 3 of us with the same specs on a safe, despite different brands, and you two gentlemen are happy.
Dehumidifier, does anyone use one? If so what brand do you recommend?
In the second video I posted he touches on this topic as well.

Any idea of the brand?
I did like the redundant lock features on the Fort Knox Safes which are available. You have both the Dial and Digital which would be nice option to have.
How long have you owned your Safe?
Anything you don't like about it?

What Gun Safe do you gentlemen own and why?
I have a Fort Knox Defender 7241 with upgrade door I paid $2700 for. 1680 degrees for 90 min. 45 Cu.ft. wt 1360 lb. 10 ga steel. No matter how big of safe you get it will not be big enough. This safe is rated for 57 guns but they must be talking pistols because there is no way in hell you could get 57 long guns in this thing. I think they rate them with single shot .22 standing straight up and down.

Thanks for this thread.
Still using an old gun safe/cabinet handed down.

This is what I'm a littler worried about. However, I do not have a lot of junk but a few important items that need to be stored. I do not want to head to the Bank each time to access these items minus guns.
Do you have any interior photos of your safe? I also agree with the long gun rating must be used with .22 rifles which seems like standard marketing practices.
Is the shelving modifiable if necessary?

Review is In.....
I'm going to grade the safe a 6.5 out of 10.
1. The safe only weights 505lbs and can easily be moved with 2 people. Even though you can bolt it into the ground a crowbar could rip this sucker out. Not to mention a Fire AX will easily rip through 10-12 Gauge Steel Body.
Example: 12 Gauge
10 Gauge
2. The shelving is cheap and flimsy.
3. No way in hell you'll fit 11 Guns into this safe. I have a Bennelli, .22 and blackpowder rifle just for a test an not all of my guns... The poster above me is correct about not having enough space.
4. I purchased from Sam's Club online therefore I'm thinking about returning it at the a store and buying a Fort Knox with 10 or lower gauge body, interior lighting, more space and weight....
Should I return or scrap the shelving and build my own, by interior LED lights on amazon and keep the safe until I need a much bigger one?
I'm on the fence...

A lot of safe talk lately on the OB. I need one really bad, all I have is a cheap Sentry sheet metal one.
When I build my house I'm building one into it. Probably a 10x10 cinder block room with a safe door and a humidifier.

no way in hell that thing holds 11 long guns unless they are all non scoped bolt actions or shotguns
Also all of those cute compartments on the side will have to go to get more than 4-5 long guns in there.
the only "storage comparments" you will have with 6 or more long guns in that safe will be the top shelf and that's if you dont have any really long guns.
ETA: sorry I posted prior to reading the entire thread

I've got the run of the mill sentry safe from academy. No fire protection. Mine is the 15 gun safe and its full. I need another one but I'm afraid of going to big because I don't want to damage my floors. Anybody know much 3/4" osb will hold

Absolutely will have one. My wife wants a fancy kitchen, living area, and bedroom. All I want is a nice gun room.

Depends on the support wood under it and the spacing.

I was hoping to go in between Fort Knox and Sentry which prompted me to buy the Mesa.
I hate when my gut is right and I should have gone with Fort Knox to start.

I know a guy who works for our local John Deere dealer and they sold a gunsafe to a guy who lives in a mobile home. The next day the guy comes in and tells them that the safe has fallen through the floor and is now sitting on the ground. They did not even go look at it.
How in the hell would you get that out? You could not get hold of it. You could not jack it up from the bottom because where would you go with it after you jacked it up? Maybe you could cut the hole out bigger and lay it on its side and pull it out with truck. I think I would just move.
