just got through listening to 'clockwork angels' a moment ago. me likey very much. it may take a couple of listens to appreciate, since it's not as accessible as their last album 'snakes and arrows'...but now that i've absorbed it somewhat, my conclusion is that it's a slobberknocker! anyone else pick this up today, or am i the lone rush nerd on the board?

IMO it has the muscle and attitude of early rush, but it's very much a 2012 album & not a nostalgia trip....

thoughts?

anyway, i've heard it a couple more times and i'm liking it more & more. the final track "the garden" might be their most appropriate album closer....well, possibly ever. OK, in at least 30 years, anyway...

I got to Target when they opened this morning.

I listened to all of last week on youtube and think it's their best stuff since Signals.

Big RUSH fan here.

OK I've Clockwork Angels had for a few days now and it gets better and better.

RUSH was always best when they were reaching and this album has them reaching again.....it's their best work since Signals, no doubt.

Wish they were coming to NOLA this fall for the tour. I keep waiting on them to add a second US leg next spring before heading to Europe.

i haven't gotten a chance to really give it a good listen from start-to-finish, but I like what I've heard so far...

Geddy can't hit the high notes like in his younger days, but I'm completely ok with that.

I hit the NOLA stop last June with my dad. AWESOME.

Might just make the trip to Houston to catch them there. Plenty of friends in that town for me to crash at.

Yeah it was a great show. I've seen every RUSH gig in NOLA since the Hold Your Fire tour.

I would go but got 3 young kids.....not easy to go to Houston for a show ya know? I keep hoping for additional dates but if not, DVD.

I heard their single many times coming back from vacation - very good. This single has been the most played RUSH radio tune that I can remember. They are passing up LA cuz they played here last June - Great show! They have been known to add later dates as they did last year. I hope and pray.

i concur.

i appreciate the overall rockin' nature of the album for sure, but "the garden" has to be one of the best closing tracks on a rush album, ever....

I agree, The Garden is great. Maybe the most emotional song from Rush since Middletown Dreams on Power Windows.

It has taken a few listens to find the real gems in this 12 song concept album. But the top four are The Garden, Halo Effect, The Wreckers, and Seven Cities of Gold. Masterful music.
