Favorite piece of sports equipment?

What's your favorite piece of sports equipment to buy/ break in/ personalize??
For me, it's the baseball glove. There's just something special about that perfect glove that catches your eye. I've always had a thing for baseball gloves.
A close second would be football helmets. There's just so much you can do with them.. Different facemasks, chin straps, visors etc
How about you.. Tennis racquet? Baseball bat? Hockey sticks?

Mitt, no doubt. I use to love the smell of the leather.

Hockey gloves are always fun. Usually they start off as this soft leather, but after you break them in you have little worn spots where you grip the stick and it feels like your skin.
Hockey skates are the worst, even the best skates out there, Graffs and Bauers, still hurt like hell for a good bit. But once they are broken in, they are perfect. Plus I always skated barefoot.

There's nothing like your first baseball glove...the oiling, putting it under your mattress, branding your initials on it.
Nothing later in life compares.

Well said. Like I said above I loved the smell of the leather and oil.
