I know he is originally from LA and his Dad supposedly still lives here. Does anyone know if his Dad lives around the BR area? This kid is going to be visiting soon and to be honest, I like our chances with him. He would be a HUGE pickup and we need some legit tackle prospects.

I believe he is not coming here because of Ethan Pocic

Obviously a huge pickup!
Isn't he visiting in the next couple of weeks?

Are they both projected at LT? I think either could play RT or LT

I know we weren't going after him full bore until recently due to some kind of "issue". That "issue" has been cleared up and now he is visiting. Hmmmmm.... We were in his top 5 before everything was cleared up and he hadn't visited yet I think once he gets here, we have a good chance of getting him

I think anything is possible after a visit, Ethan Pocic is the perfect example. I never thought we would land him but I was wrong

You can't be serious. Vadal will be starting next year and you can bet the bank on that. Nobody is going to jump him on the chart and i don't care what there star ranking is.

Right?
We are going after 4 OL in this class. We would like the 4th to be a C but Tunsil is always a take, period.
Tunsil and Pocic as bookend Ts...wow, just the thought.
Love how aggressive the staff has been at going for guys in the trenches this recruiting year. The lines are obviously the focal point.

Vadal will be great but I am pretty sure the poster you are responding to was talking about Tackles only, and Vadal will be playing guard, at least to start out with...

If I'm not mistaken I read something (not sure if it was rivals or somewhere else) where it said Pocic will probably play guard at LSU. I've looked at LT's film and he has some of the best footwork I've seen in a long time. I think LT would step right in and start right after Chris Faulk leaves.

Vadal is running 2nd team at OT right now. Doesn't mean that's where he'll stay his whole career. Same thing with Collins playing OG. That's the reasoning behind recruiting mostly OTs. They are generally more versatile than true OGs. A lot easier to move a guy inside than it is to move a guy outside. OT is something that a kid either has the ability to play or he doesn't. Jerald Hawkins hasn't hit campus yet. That kid has elite potential at OT. Could end up better than any kid on our roster at OT.
Tunsil is a guy no one turns down including us. Our staff(along with everyone else in the country) has Tunsil rated as the top OT in the nation. Not enthusiastic about our chances but after Pocic, who knows.

You 100 percent correct about all this. Still doesn't change the fact that he is a tackle. Starting you career off as a tackle then moving to guard is a demotion. If he is already on the 2 deep then he a future starter at tackle trust me.

Scike said he reminded him of Billy Bob from Varisty Blues and Not another Teen Movie

GA where did you see that about his top 5? All I saw was his top 4
Posted on 6/1/12 at 7:08 pm to Captain Crown
what part of LA is he originally from?

I feel you and get it. My feeling is this. In 3 years say our 5 best OL are Collins, Alexander, Pocic, Hawkins and a center, who's playing inside? Very good chance Collins is the only one that will start out as an OG. Someone is getting demoted. Happens all the time. Barrett Jones is one of the best OL in the country and played left and right tackle last year, OG before that and will play C this year. He's not demoted, he's just moved where he helps the team most to make room for other guys that are talented. I'd rather be "demoted" to OG than standing on the sidelines watching. I'm sure Alexander is the same way.
