I've got a 24ft pontoon boat with a 85hp Yamaha on it. I'm pretty sure it has the right prop on it. WOT is around 5300rpm. I've trimmed it up after gaining speed but the entir pontoon still remains in the water.

It's only rated for a 90hp. It only has 2 pontoons under it and not 3 like a lot of the ones I see with bigger outboards.

I'm just comparing it to a 26' cataraman center console I dive out of sometimes. It has dual 140hp Suzukis

Its a pontoon boat what type of performance are you expecting?

Most Pontoons I see ride lower in the back at WOT.

A little better than the 15mph that I'm getting now.

It's a pontoon. Why would you even want it to plane off if could plane off, which it can't?

yeah you should probably be doing better than 15mph.

Maybe the height of the motor is to high, maybe it needs to be lowered down a hole or two.

Also maybe a brand and model number of your rig may help us as well.

I see plenty that do get on plane. Something sounds off especially with only 15 mph. Is the manufacture still in business, can you give them a call?

First off, you are not turning up enough RPM's. Loaded, you should be able to reach 5700 RPM'S. Try to find a 4 blade power prop in a lower pitch. With just a couple people on board, you should be able to get about 22-25 mph.

Oh, you might try moving some weight to the bow too!

are your pontoons clean?

if the boat is left in the water barnacles, etc. can grow on them and slow you down
