ULM has as much claim to "UL" as does ULL.
I'd be all for referring to ULM as Louisiana just to rub the folks in Laffy.

I am a life long LSU fan and I went to ULL back when it was USL. I don't understand this rivalry. It isn't Auburn/Alabama or even Florida/FSU. It is a lower conference team in the same state. From both sides it is so stupid.

The scoreboard should just read "irrelevant" in the visitor's title space for teams going up against LSU this weekend, because it really doesn't matter.

Things have changed since you went to USL. They went to the Louisiana legislature a few years back and the confusion and "wannabe" status began.

The laffy folks seriously have this coming to them. They have been referring to themselves as Louisiana for some time. I hope ULM has some UL hats and Louisiana shirts for the games.

ULL is the largest university on the Louisiana system. Twice the size of ULM. No different than University of Texas at Austin referring to themselves as UT. They are the largest university in the Texas system. Just saying.

pretty sure that UTA cant legally refer to themselves as UT. Louisiana legislature attempted to prevent a UL by allowing both schools UL but to be further identified Lafayette and Monroe. Lafayette folks, newspaper and school have ignored the law.

Very different, actually. I'm sure the Texas legislature does not expressly prevent any one university within that system from claiming flagship status, as does the Louisiana legislature regarding the UL System. Just saying.
