Hornets have 2 first round draft picks. Stern hooks us up next weekend with a #1 and a #5. Obviously, Anthony Davis comes to us at #1. A trade is proposed by Demps to Colangelo that has the Hornets receiving Andrea Bargnani and the Raptors second round pick, while the Raptors would acquire Emeka Okafor and the Hornets #5 overall draft choice. The Toronto Raptors see a chance to pair DeMar DeRozan with MKG and can use their draft pick, presumably 3 selections later, on a center to replace Bargnani. After tricking Colangelo into accepting, the second round comes around and Demps remembers a 19 point performance by the Kansas Jayhawks point guard in the championship game. BOOM… second round selection is the future franchise point guard, Tyshawn Taylor.

New Orleans Hornets 2012 Roster

PG Jarrett Jack, Greivis Vasquez, Tyshawn Taylor
SG Eric Gordon, Xavier Henry
SF Trevor Ariza, Al- Farouq Aminu
PF Anthony Davis, Gustavo Ayon, Lance Thomas
C Andrea Bargnani, Jason Smith, Darryl Watkins

Interesting to say the least. I like Barg, but at PF, he always had trouble guarding 5's. Maybe Davis could make up for the lack of defense, but I probably would just pick up Barnes or MKG with the fifth.

Barg is not a 5. No matter how many times Toronto tries to play him there.

I'm one of the few that things AD has the potential and frame to be a C in this league, but I really want to see what he weighs in at at the combine.

Bargs simply can't do it.

That lineup would have some bulk deficiencies in the interior for sure. Its certainly interesting.

It would also have some facial deficiencies. (unibrows, sloth teeth, etc)

he's like 20. methinks he has a little bit of time to put on some pounds.

i know you know it already, but one thing people keep forgetting on here is that whoever we take isn't going to be an all-NBA player next year. there's lots of raw talent in this draft that's going to need to be developed, and I hope whoever the team takes is willing to put in the work to become the player the Hornets need.

This. Even the "can't miss guys" usually go through a learning/expanded season curve.

I heard Jalen Rose on the radio the other day and he was talking about some kid who got drafted out of high school who asked him, "when do we get off for Christmas break?" It really reminds you how young these kids are.

I do not want anything from the Raptors especially Bargnashit. He too inconsistent and I would rather start from new and get some YOUNG talent through the draft.
