SLU (38-19) won first 2 games of south land tourney. Any chance they would draw a regional outside of Baton Rouge? I'd like to pull for both teams. I'll hang up and listen.

anything is possible, but there's a good chance they end up in baton rouge. i, for one, welcome them and look forward to beating them if given the opportunity

I'll post what I posted in the other thread:

quote:

Since there is only one Louisiana regional host, it's pretty safe to say that the committee will send as many in-state teams as they can.

In fact, since the regionals went to this format in 1999, there has been only 2 seasons when LSU hosted a regional that did not have another Louisiana team in it.

2004
1. LSU
2. Southern Miss
3. College of Charleston
4. Army

NOTE: LSU was only Louisiana team in postseason that year

2001
1. LSU
2. VCU
3. Cal
4. Minnesota

NOTE: The only other two La. teams, Southern and Tulane, were in the New Orleans Regional which was paired with Baton Rouge Regional for Supers

On the opposite end, there was one season when LSU hosted an All-Louisiana Regional.

2002
1. LSU
2. ULL
3. Tulane
4. Southern

To put it simply, Southeastern is likely going to be at the Box next week.

I would think it depends on what Tulane and ULM do. Tulane and SLU are both likely to be 3 seeds. Since Tulane and Rice are both in CUSA, there is a chance that SLU could be sent to Houston.

There is also a chance that Tulane loses the next couple and plays their way back off the bubble.
