Need some OB advice

There's a lot that's been going on lately. I want to take my son on a hike at the Clark Creek area. I've been before but would like some suggestions. It's just been a while

Bring plenty of water. Good hiking stick. Take your time don't rush. If you've been you know it's a tough trail for south Mississippi.
Bring a pack lunch and find a good shady spot to eat.

Oh I have a hiking pack. Just worried its too much for me. I plan on packing light stuff to snack on, n extra stuff in case nature calls. Pack it in u pack it out.
