Tower
HDD
Power Supply
Memory
Motherboard
CPU/Processor
SSD
VIdeo Card
Optical Drive

In the works of building a very fast gaming computer. I've never built one and chose these out of some research, any clues/tips? I know there are a few, but I just want some opinions. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

ETA: Thank you so much for the replies. I've changed the video card to the GTX 680 like you've recommended.

ETA2 You know this video card HERE is never in stock...any suggestions on where I can get it?

that looks nice. If you plan on doing crossfire or sli than you might want to get a 1000+ psu. If not, that looks great and I wish I would have waited and spent that kind of money on it

why the frick are you spending 180 on a case and then not even getting an SSD?

Exactly what I was wondering.

Workstation graphics cards are for businesses and what not, not for gaming.

Replace that with this if you can find one in stock.

DO NOT BUY THE VIDEO CARD !!!!!!

That card is in no way shape or form a gaming card.

If you want to spend that much. Buy a GTX 680

Do you need to connect to remote end users?

If not then this isn't the graphics card for you.

I don't think the OP has much of a clue on computers.

Order a GTX 680 graphics card, for starters. Best of the best.

The video card or cards he decides on should decide the power supply.

As long as the cards don't draw more amps on the 12v rail than the PSU can output he should be ok.

I'm right there with you. I ordered my PC last year without a clue. I've obtained so much knowledge now regarding pc hardware. I can't wait to upgrade my pc (the right way). Start reading a lot about pc hardware, figure out what each component does. I guarantee it will help you in the long run (you can even boast on a job application that you know a good bit about computers)
