Who knows but they probably could have avoided at least this lawsuit if they would have made Vilmas suspension 4 games instead of a year

correct. and it's a no lose situation for vilma. the public already thinks he's a POS thug and he's already suspended for the year, this wont hurt anything if it doesnt work out
