I am in the market for a new ice chest and want to hear some opinions as to which is the best. Igloo, coleman, max cold, 7 day, etc....
Anyone have any tips for me?

What are you going to use it for? How big you need or not need it? What's your favorite color? Do you need it to act as a platform? If roses were red, violets are blue, I'd go with the max cold.

I've been researching this issue for a few weeks now. I was about to pull the trigger on a Yeti until I saw a recent thread.

They say the best for under a $100 is the Coleman Extreme or the Igloo Max.

Igloo max cold and or Marine is all I have!

Hinges are cheap and break, but I replace them with rubber pump hose as soon as I buy an ice chest and I never have a problem!

something 64 quarts or bigger. Just to hold ice and beer.

academy carries this for $99, only 54 quarts but it's a pretty bad ice chest. Good for a camping day or something. This combined with a nice 120 igloo max cold would be a nice combo.

Am I the only person who still goes to WalMart and buys normal, cheap ice chests? Damn, they're just holding beer or something for a day or so and ice is pretty damn cheap.

I don't guess I'll ever fall into the expensive ice chest fad.

Sam's has 150s for about $80, best deal out there if you need something that big.

Explain this. My igloo hinges last about a year.

you can also use a leather strap and just cut it to make a hinge

I actually saw this over the weekend. One of the guys that tailgates next to us had leather straps.

Those wheels are a good idea in theory, but they take away from space on the interior and they just get in the way. Especially when storing.

I have a shite load of ice chest so I have a tool box with nothing but parts and tools for fixing them, leather straps are the best hinges.

120 Coleman extreme for 59.00 or 69.00 has been a great ice chest for me.

3 or 4 frozen water bottles go a long way in helping keep ice for longer periods of time

When I run out of hinges I'll probably switch to leather.

I like the regular Igloo 120 quart.
They are the easiest one to clean after you have had fish in them.
Sometimes I salt the ice and that seems to keep it frozen longer.
