Program notes:

Hadn't seen #8. Beautiful.

I picked #3 to be #1 before I started watching.

But can't complain about #1 and #2

Number 2 is too high if this is the one from reddit.

Also poor Timmy everton had some nice goals scored on them

Did I read correctly, that Rooney's bike was goal of the decade or best goal ever in the EPL. Voted by the FA ? Anyone else see that ?

Yeah it's bologna, goldfish memories voting

It's not even the best goal on Manu in the last 20 years.. Cantona's is better

As pretty as the Crouch goal is ... the Cisse goal has such a sick bend on it that I may have to lean towards it.

Also, the RVP goal doesn't even look that hard coming off his foot, which is crazy because that shite is hard as frick.

Without seeing the goals, my top 3 are:

1. Van Persie vs. Everton

2. Crouch vs. City

3. Cisse vs. Chelsea

I'm ranking them based on perceived difficulty. I think Cisse's was more of a fluke. Those balls do weird things in the air. As far as the coolness factor goes I might have to give it #1, but I honestly attribute it more to luck than skill (not to say that Cissé isn't skilled, because he certainly is).

Also, poor Timmay

I bet the Bryan Ruiz goal was especially painful.

LOL! The Suarez hate shines through. A 45 yard chip shouldn't be #2? You realize that's only been done a handful of times in the BPL? Each and every season you see dozens of awesome volleys and bending strikes. But seeing a goal like that is rare.

Not to take anything away from RVP, I love the man, but that was not the most difficult goal on the list. In fact, I don't think it was top 5. Crouch, Cisse, Taylor, Coates and Suarez accurately make up the top 5 IMO. RVP displayed an incredible bit of skill there, but it was an 8 yard volley with no defenders in front of him. Crouch and Cisse's goals explains themselves. Taylor had a superb volley from outside the box. Coates with a half-bike in a cluster-fricked box. Suarez with a 45 yard chip.

I thought for sure the Crouch goal v. City was tops, but hadn't seen the Cisse goal. I'll go:

Cisse
Crouch
Suarez

Absolutely nothing you can tell me will make me think a 45 yard long shot with a goalie out of position is harder to do than Crouch's juggling volley to the top corner.

that's without even considering the importance of said goal, crouch's was at the time the winning goal verse the team who will win the league, Suarez was the 3rd in a 3-0 (all his, and arguably a top hat trick in terms of awesomeness of each goal that I've seen in a while) but still no pressure.

Crouch is #1 IMO, but I can live with the rest. Frazier Campbell's goal (#9) deserves a little more love.

By that logic, Tim Howard's 90 yard goal against Bolton would have been at the top of this list.

But it wasn't nor should it have been...

Arguably #1, but I'll give it to Cisse because that shot was wicked. I'd love to know what he was thinking when he shot that...

Crouch's shot was good, too. I dont have an issue with the order...

I honestly don't think even he thought it would go in. Look at his reaction right after he kicked it.

1. Crouch. The touch to set up the shot meant he knew exactly what he was doing.
2. Cisse. Granted you have to have incredible technique to even have a chance of that ball going in but if it came to him like that 10 times I think maybe 2 go in. So not to say that it as lucky but there was certainly an element of luck to it.
3. RVP

everything else

To me that's what makes it more impressive, he knew it was going at the goal as soon as he kicked it and was headed over for a potential rebound.

I didn't say it was harder. It's just rare and awesome. Do you realize how rare it is to beat a professional goalie from 45 yards out? That was an unbelievable shot with incredible composure. Beckham had a goal exactly like that and it was a finalist for greatest BPL goals ever

He might not have expected it to go in, but he definitely knew what he was doing when he shot it.
