#2 Barkevious Mingo
#5 Sam Montgomery
#8 Tyrann Mathieu
#19 Chris Faulk
#21 Eric Reid
#23 Bennie Logan

I know it early but 6 guys projected in the top 23 is freaking incredible. With 5 on the defensive side of the ball, this team will be a lot of fun to watch this year.

Will TM7's skill set translate to the NFL?

I think as a nickel corner absolutely. The only problem is with his playmaking ability you want him on the field more than that. Heck who knows maybe he has put in the work to be an every down corner.

Logan will have to have a huge year + huge combine to get in Rd 1.

Hurst has a legit chance too. Big year from Hurst. Watch out.

I would not be surprised if Reid goes higher. Top 10. Barron went 7 and we all know Reid is superior.

When we last saw TM7, he still had a year and a half of development to undergo before he could even legally become part of the NFL. What people forget when talking about height is that small people are shiftier and more agile. If that weren't true, every basketball team on Earth would suit up 5 7'2" centers at every position. Weight and height both have to be overcome by power and strength. As a homework assignment, write 1/4 of a page on why it is that WRs are generally taller than CBs.

I'm not saying adding height wouldn't be ideal, just that at a certain height, your height becomes a liablity. At CB, my unprofessional, purely speculative opinion is that 6' 0" is the magic number in today's game. So at 5' 9", TM7 is 3" short. But, I will say this. The vast majority of NFL CBs are 5'10-6'1". (Going by CBs whose names I recognized and checking their stats. No jobbers.) So going by the scale of what's out there, 5' 9" doesn't sound bad at all.

Dr Jack, Logan will have a big year. All you have to do is look at the players around him, his Defensive Coach, and the schedule Lsu is blessed with this year. If he only takes a babystep forward from last year, he's going to have a great year.

Too bad this staff can't develop players and get them to the next level.

(yes, that's sarcasm).

Tharold will be the first corner taken in this draft. He is the best corner in college and did lead LSU in pbu last year. I could see as many as 10 player from LSU selected in the first two rounds. Thats almost unheard of.

This is great and I wish the best of luck to these tigers if they all indeed leave early.

My main concern is of course how are we going to replace all of these players? I hope a few of these guys pull a Dorsey and stay one more year.

I don't know about that. I love Reid , but Barron is an excellent safety with no holes in his game.

Reid is faster, hits harder, better in coverage, better against the run, and a better student of the game. Rambo, Reid and tj mcdonald are better safties than barron and will battle it out to be the first safety drafted. Barron has no holes but he is a lil suspect against the pass. He was also the 7th pick by default because he was the only elite safety. Eric reid could play corner and his awareness set's him apart from most. I have yet to see someone get behind Reid. He will not go as high as barron because they have 4 of the best olb i've seen in a long time in mingo, montgomery, jarvis and acho. Theirs also 3 elite recievers in keenan, woods and hunter. Throw in qb's wilson, bray, sanchez, ej and logan(my favorite!!) and u can see why he will not go 7th.

If all of those guys leave, we had better win it all this year.
