I recently found some fish in my freezer that is old. I was wondering if I could use this for catfish bait on some jug lines. The fish is some big bull bream that has been scaled and cleaned. I figure they will be stinky enough to catch something.

Wild hog liver, heart, and brined lungs. I'm going to use a hog carcass as chum this summer. and then fish it the next day.

No, other than the table I don't like them at all. I am however, very oppurtunisitic. I hate the lil suckers and I will kill them all. (or at least my .000003 % that I can get too)

For the OP the freeze dried bream will work great. Be warned some states do not allow them as bait.

ETA: I wonder if the catfish I catch will have a slight bacon flavor?

Blend them up and melt down some soap. Mix it together and put it in a mold. It will harden back up like the soap was. Makes great bait.

I've been struggling for bait lately. Havent had time to catch bream (AL law allows bream as bait as long as the bream is caught on a line)

Tried Shiners last weekend without much luck

I'm thinking a chunk of hog skin with a nice thick layer of fat would stay on the hook pretty well.

I have used deer meat before and that stayed on the hook very good. We had to get pliers to get some of them off the hook
