Writes Triplett: “[A]ccording to a source close to [former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg] Williams, the NFL has also misrepresented what Williams said in interviews with the league. According to the source, Williams never admitted a ‘bounty program’ was in place and that the league ‘rephrased his statements to satisfy its needs.’ The source also said Williams never identified any players for their involvement in a pay-for-performance or bounty program.”

Mother of God.

Goodell and the "Sheild" are looking worse and worse. At this point, I'd almost welcome a Congressional inquiry. It's getting that bad.

Whoa.

But let's slow down, guys.
This source came from someone close to GW.
We should be skeptical about it, as well.

Those are strong, stunning allegations. Given the mounting attacks on the quality of the league’s evidence, the time has come for the NFL to disclose it. All. Publicly. Every piece and shred of it.

It’s far too late for the NFL to hide behind “personnel matters” and “privacy rights.” Through a series of detailed statements that the NFL has released containing summaries and characterizations of evidence, the reputations of Gregg Williams, Sean Payton, Joe Vitt, Mickey Loomis, Anthony Hargrove, Scott Fujita, Will Smith, and Jonathan Vilma forever have been sullied. The least the league can do at this point is share with all of us the evidence that justified publicly branding these eight men as cheaters, liars, and worse.

This isn’t about exonerating Williams, who delivered a fatal blow to his own reputation the night before the Saints faced the 49ers in the 2011 NFC playoffs. But the league has painted all of eight men with the same broad brush. The time has come to take a scalpel to the evidence and figured out exactly who did what.

BOOM! By Florio no less.

I also heard that they cut off the end of his pre game playoff speech where he told the players not do anything to hurt themselves or the team!!!!!

In the beginning of all this stuff something didn't seem right. Video footage constantly being replayed of the Saints laying out LEGAL hits on FECESPN, etc. "Where's the proof?" isn't a new cry - it's been there from the start. The comeback of, "Oh golly, gee...the NFL has 50,000 pages of evidence!" is the sort of comeback of LOSERS People have sold their collective souls to the media which manipulates, shapes, and changes society. This is the sharpest dive so far into the sports world.

As much as I love football I hope the NFL suffers immensely from all this bogus, corrupt stuff. The Truth will always win in the end.

We still have to wait to see how this plays out, but as I posted a few weeks ago, for the first time in my life (and I'm in my 50's) I'm starting to hate the NFL. Never thought I'd feel like that and it's all because of this. At the very least, it's been badly handled. At the worst, the Saints have been railroaded.

The shame of this is that the average Joe fan isn't still following this story. If they watched ESPN even one day in the last two months they heard that the Saints cheated and that's that.

I have a feeling that this story is only beginning to snowball.

Which is why we have to keep this thing going until the media and others start to get interested. It's already starting and it's snowballing fast.

To be fair Florio (who was at one time the snarkiest reporters in terms of our guilt) has been beating the drum harder than anyone in terms of "due process". When considering that the NFLs success is directly tied to his I have to give him some props for his efforts.

Wow. This is huge.

But guess what? The damage is done. No one will care and the TV media won't report it.

I mean what's the best we can really hope for? Goodell apologizes, admits it was an exaggeration and reduces/removes the suspensions?
