Any suggestions?

Let me know how it is. Had planned on going a while back but didn't make it.

A few friends ate there when they were younger. Remember that it was good, but as a kid you don't truly appreciate food.

The food is solid. Veal chop was real good, and I liked the crawfish arancini app. I find the menu to be a bit boring, and uninspired.

It is hard for me to justify driving all the way out to white castle when I can just go to Latil's at Houmas House, which blows Nottoway out the water.

Next time try the ferry at Plaquemine Point, it is an entertaining trip, especially with a SO.

I completely forgot about the ferry. I will do that.

fricking stellar.

Boudin stuffed chicken, crap cakes, BBQ shrimp and grits.

Anything on the menu that caught your attention? I'll give you mt rating on it.

Are you staying the night and eating b'fast tomorrow.

ETA: Holy shite. I'm late to the party. What did you decide on?

We had fried green tomatoes and oyster rockefeller for starters. No complaints.

I had the blackened red fish with a boudin cake and asparagus and my fiancée had the filet with cream potatoes. She ordered blue cheese crumbles on top which they forgot. I thought the filet was dry and the redfish was ok.

The service was slow. It was not busy at all and it took 25 minutes to get appetizers. We had an 8 top and had 2 servers.

Overall, it's not worth the money IMO. I may have ordered the wrong entree as well. I'm getting married out there next May so maybe I will give it another shot before then.

Has anyone stayed there for a night? My wife won a $300 gift card and and I am sure we will get around to using it, but after reading the reviews for the restaurant It has lessened my desire to visit...

I have eaten at the restaurant a few times and breakfast twice and enjoyed it every time. He might have had a bad experience or went on a bad night. I like to sit in the circular rotunda room and look out at the property. Go, sit, drink, don't rush and have a good time.

I actually agree with the service behalf. I had great food one night but I brought a bottle of Paloma Merlot and first off the girl waiting on me didn't have a corkscrew and had no clue what a decanter was. She came out with a plastic wine chiller and looked very confused. By time she brought me a corkscrew she almost mangled it in the bottle. At the point I asked for it personally, showed her how to open a bottle, and told her I would pour the rest of my glasses. I will say the view from the rotunda looking over the live oak was great and the food was very well prepared, however the service was bad at best. However, in their defense, there is not nearly the draw of prospective servers in the area as Baton Rouge and by far as New Orleans.
