Very sad situation. Hopefully, he will be allowed to stay at the university.

Competition for ND starting QB job now solely Andrew Hendrix vs. Everett Golson.

This is a rough year for Notre Dame. 1st Greenbery bailed on you, now this and worst of all you are facing the most brutal schedule of the last 20 years.

Tee Shepard and Aaron Lynch as well.

At the same time, however, there were unexpected pleasant surprises like Carlisle, Neal, and Kiel. Very weird few months.

Lynch was huge I forgot about him. I don't think Shepard was ever going to be much of a player

Completely disagree with you on Shepard. Dude's a natural CB, and I think it hurts more than Lynch because we are very deep at DL with Tuitt, Lewis-Moore, Day, Nix, Schwenke, etc. CB is probably the thinnest position on the roster.

We'll see what happens with this case moving forward, though. I was initially (as much as I hate to say) excited about the arrest because it would make clear the path for the better of Hendrix/Golson to get the job, but seeing a felony charge is a whole different matter. I really hope his future is not completely thrown away.

On the bright side no rapes or student worker deaths in months.

A guy making out with a woman (who wanted to make out) and proceeding to touch her boob, while maybe wrong (though I would say probably 95% of college males in that situation would not think so), is not rape, believe it or not. The female had clinical depression and falsely accused another male of rape at her previous institution.

I'm not going to defend the Declan Sullivan situation except to say it was an accident. A mistake to put him up there, but of course no intent or knowledge they were putting him in danger (though there should have been). The family has moved on and been appreciative and thankful for the support Notre Dame has provided after a terrible tragedy. If his parents have forgiven, maybe others who have no connection at all should to. Except it's Notre Dame football, so might as well keep hating.

I swear that people (even though they'd never admit it) were happy two kids died in these respective situations, because it opened an avenue for them to bash Notre Dame.

Just trying to act like a SEC school off the field. Maybe we can act like on on the field this year

Domers don't appreciate Rees, isn't he like 11-3 as a starter? I don't count the the USC loss against him since it was Crist who gave the game away. Also Notre Dame blows out USF if Rees plays the enitre game.

Jordan Jefferson had one loss as a starter last season.

Tommy Rees was not the reason ND has gone 12-4 (not 11-3) in games he's started.

So his official record is 12-4(should be 13-4 possible 14-3). Usually freshman/sohpmores who go 13-4 are lauded but Domers seem to have a personal vendetta against him. I am guessing it is because they were blind to just how much of a cancer Crist was.

I can think of zero games that Tommy Rees won with his play, where he made the difference. None. Most of his wins are either blowouts against bad teams where it didn't matter who was the QB or games that he did everything in his power to lose but the defense and/or running game wouldn't allow it to happen (2010 USC, BC, Wake, Pitt). He was terrible in the loss to Florida State. He was terrible in the loss to Stanford. He was below average in the loss to USC. The only loss he started where he played pretty well was Michigan (which might be why you have a high opinion of him) and he still accounted for three turnovers (2 picks, 1 fumble) in that game (the main reason we lost, along with DB breakdowns).

Tommy is slow, he is unathletic, he has a weak arm, he makes awful decisions, and he is turnover prone. He does do a few things well, such as managing the game from an audible/checking into certain plays standpoint, as well as the short passing game. Unfortunately, that's not good enough to compete for championships. It's good enough to beat bad teams and that's about it.

For a freshman/sophmore he was very good considering he had to deal with Crist.

I have some friends here at the university that went to Notre Dame that lets say might have joked about the JJ situation last year that may now have some payback coming to them this morning...

All you mouth-breathing f-tards who are actually celebrating this should be ashamed of yourselves. I am among those who NEVER wanted to see Tommy start another game, but never would I want it to be because he wasn't beat out on the field. Let alone it being for personal reasons... You're all a black eye on our fan base.
this is one of the better responses

If he wouldn't have run and then punch a cop he would have gotten a mip and walked. Every move he made after seeing the blue lights was exponentially worse than the one before.
