Do we still make the championship game? Bama would beat OSU. But as bad as we stunk Jan 9 not sure we beat Stanford. Discuss

Stanford would not score.
LSU would score on Defense/Speciai Teams.
Game Over.

We didn't necessarily play bad on Jan 9. Alabama just made adjustments to the first game when we played them.. We on the other hand did not.. We would have roasted Stanford just like every other team we faced (besides bama)

We would've crushed anyone besides bama.

That's absurd. Stanford's defense was not even remotely in the same class as Alabama's, thus the gameplan and lack of production from the champ game would not have been the same against someone else. LSU would have defeated Stanford with relative ease, and that is in spite of likely typical Jefferson quarterback play.

LSU would have game planned better for an out of conference game and the positive for playing Bama in the championship game would be the smaller amount of time to plan....that would work in our favor

LSU and Bama were BY FAR the two best teams in the nation last year.

Depth was the main disparity with the 2011 team and their opponents. We dominated in the second half because we could roll guys that were just as good out and never see a drop off in performance. Bama had depth as well that is why they were able to play with us for four quarters. Game planning was the problem on Jan. 9. LSU and Bama would have met again and we would have likely seen the same result, due to no adjustments being made on our part. I have faith in Miles though, he rarely makes the same mistake twice. To 2012 season

I'm amazed that some don't understand the reality of the situation that was handed to LSU.

LSU was the best team last year and NOBODY should have beaten that team. Only the combination of a psychological advantage via a mulligan and some coaching stubbornness gave them that game.

Andrew Luck would have dropped to second overall pick behind RG3 after his performance against LSU's defense

It's crazy that some LSU fans think that we should've destroyed Bama or atleast beat then soundly. Bama's def was the best defense I've seen in the last 30 years. Hands down. They had no weaknesses. Yes I understand that GSU ran for some yards on tHem , but they weren't Putting forth a real effort. I'm not saying LSU couldn't beat them because we should've , but even my 60 year old mother knew That we couldn't just use the same gameplan from Nov. 5th and just run option. No team last year could even keep it close to either team for 4 quarters. Bama and LSU wax Stanford

If they had done that, not only would we have made the championship game, but bama would have had less time to put in a completely different offensive gameplan.

Still not sure how people say we didn't make adjustments for that game.

They might have been shitty adjustments, but that was not the same gameplan as before.

Les would have had the want to put Jarrett Lee in the game. Regardless of the outcome. But Bama was the only team who had a chance to stay of the field with the Tigers.
