The frick? Maybe not on defense, but that offense gave a piss poor effort.

If it wasn't for our defense, we would've been beat 40-0.

I'm not sure Stanford wouldn't have beaten us. It would have only taken three touchdowns on our defense to make it iffy.

Luck was pretty damn good. I actually believe Stanford matched up better versus LSU and Bama than OSU. They ran a pro-style offense.

Both LSU and Bama would have destroyed OSU. Weeden would have been taken out of the stadium in a body bag.

I still think it would've been LSU-Bama.

However, I was wondering, if this format existed last season, would the human polls have voted OSU #2 so Bama would have to travel to Stillwater?

I mean, considering all the hell the BCS gets, people would probably still be bitching if the long-awaited playoff system sent the Big 12 champ on the road to play the SEC West runner-up.

No telling how voters woukd vote in a diff format, shite they could have dropped bama so there wouldnt be a rematch in the final. Thus leaving lsu bama, stanford osu.

People like to say that the offense lost us the NC, but the defense didn't really come to play either and I think they get a lot more love than they should. Bama only punted 1-2 times and they have a crap offense and horrible red zone ability.

If our defense from the BCS is in the game vs Stanford, it's pretty much a shoot out. We would pwn their defense of course but they would put up big numbers on us as well. If our defense from any other game during the year turns up we win easy.

You serious Clark? Anyone besides bama would get stomped.

ETA: Shux, you're an idiot. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard and no one on planet earth agrees with you. Without the great effort from the defense, the final score would have been much worse. The offense was a steaming pile of crap; line, blocking, receiving, and of course at qb.

Also, the fact that you used "pwn" makes me view you as a 12 year old with cheeto dust on your shirt.

I've read some dumb shite on this forum, and this is top 5 material.

The offense sustained ZERO drives. The defense kept us in the game until the 4th quarter was winding down.

LSU's linemen could run circles around most of Stanford's skill players. We would have hammered Stanford.

LSU was the best team last year and NOBODY should have beaten that team. Only the combination of a psychological advantage via a mulligan and some coaching stubbornness gave them that game.

LSU was damn good. This hurts to say this, but people need to realize how good Bama was. They rolled through their schedule just like us. Sure we won the Nov 5th game but that thing was so close it could have gone either way. If Reid does not make that INT that game is over right there.

Bama was the only team that could beat us on that night and LSU was the only team that had a chance to beat Bama on Jan 9th.

Hell the Colts would have had a tough time beating LSU and Bama last year.

It's funny when homers attack. You can only say our defense played lights out and is easily the best in the country, because anything else you say means they are the exact opposite.

You probably only watch LSU games and don't understand why all american teams are not just our starting lineup.

The only way to look at Jan 9 is that either our defense had a bit of an off night compared to the Nov 5 and the rest of the year, OR , Bama developed a top 10 offense between the end of the season and the BCS.

Maybe you should try and get into another sport outside of college football or pick up a hobby or something so when you read anything less than glowing reviews about the team it doesn't feel like someone abused your sister.

You can't be serious.

We stunk on Jan 9 because we played Bama, for a second time. That is it. No one else in the country would come within 10 points of us, and that's being very conservative. This was the best LSU team ever, and without a QB. Amazing how some people quickly forget how unbelievably good this team and season were.

Shux, stop. You have no idea how much non-LSU college football I watch. Our defense DID play lights out and were on the field 90% of the game! Did you realize that when your offense is that terrible and only performs 3 and outs on the field, that means the defense has to be on the field way more than usual?

How do you know this? I assume you base that opinion on the most recent game that the 2 teams played. What about the first game the 2 teams played? I'm pretty sure that game gave no one any indication of how the second game would end up. So how can you now so confidently say that the 2nd game clearly indicates how a 3rd game would end up? Some of you people must not watch a lot of sports.
