do we need ban action for some of these "shock" videos?

the one UFownstSECsince1950 just posted was terrible (props for the whack, admins). Really no real warning at all, I didn't know what it was and the next thing I know a dude's face is split in half. Last week they had a thread w/ a dude getting buried alive, and the week before someone posted a video of some chick in Africa getting burned alive.
Am I the only one that's kind of done w/ these? Really don't think they have any place on a great website like this.

Guy gets ran over by taxi in Montreal and you don't know what it's about?

Then why can't I post warning: graphic and post some porn? I don't see how one is more inappropriate than the other.

because that is against board rules.
thread's gone, let it go.

You could have easily just not clicked on it.

You really don't see the difference?
Look, I was the one that whacked the thread because that is what we have traditionally done with nasty fricking videos - they have no place on here.
But, surely you understand that there's a difference to our advertisers when it comes to a gruesome car accident and a thread with hard-core porn, no?
Besides, the whole fricking board would be filled with porn. People are less likely to fill the OT with horrific videos.
That said, I don't know...maybe Chicken could take it under advisement...I would be for it.
Those videos are nasty.

But you can. Try it and see.

This wouldnt be an issue to you if you would have stayed gone when you announced you were leaving the board.

HT713 and I have the same problem. I know I don't want to click on it but I have a clicking addiction and do want to see what it is even if I know it isn't good.

I guess. At least sex is a natural act, but I understand what you're saying.

Yeah, I feel like maybe I should rephrase. If this were an "anything goes" board like 4chan i'd understand. But if we're going to ban anything, I think these videos should be near the top of the list.

They say abstinence is the only way to break an addiction.

ust ignore him. everyone agrees he is terrible and obviously an alter, but if you don't engage w/ him you'll have nothing to worry about.
maybe you should follow your own advice, hypocrite. If the thread says graphic or nsfw then don't click on it and ignore it. Just because you click on something knowing it will be bad doesn't mean you can whine and complain about it.
IMO, I like watching the shock videos. Sure, they are messed up, but are still entertaining to me on a really weird fricked up level. I don't believe in censorship but I think admins does a good job of eliminating the videos that are excessively brutal or gory. I don't think that they need you telling them how to run their site.
