Why didn't Frodo just fly on one of those damn eagles that lifted him out of the volcano at the end of the movie at the beginning of the movie to drop the ring in the lava so I wouldn't have wasted nine hours of my life on this overly-dramatic and CGI-tastic "masterpiece"?

A ring? Seriously?

They're good films, but I always expect Sam and Frodo to start making out. Alot of weird hobbit sexual tension in those movies.

Wooly, have you really ever heard this? I just watched this Peter Jackson CGI-fest and while I was impressed with the stunning visuals, it got old after hours and hours. The storyline/plot (although based on the the books) was weak. By the end (really halfway through the films), I was begging that the Gollum creature would:

1. Kill and eat both Frodo and Sam WhatsHisName
2. Put the ring on.
3. Transform into an entertaining new creature
4. Kill and eat all the Wizards/Elves/Gnomes/Hobbits

Borat was a good film. LOTR is one of the best movies and trilogies of all time. Don't ever get that mistaken

I agree, especially the part in the woods where they are talking about the stories their kids will tell about each other,

"Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam. " (staring gheyly)

If you want the quick and easy solution, why do you watch movies anyways?

The best explanation for why they simply didn't take the eagles is because the story isn't necessarily about the ring, even though it's the focal point of the books. The books were more about friendship and loyalty. Staying true to each other in spite of what they went through. What I always get from them when I watch them.

All because of Elijah Wood. I think he's an alright actor, but he was definitely an awkward Frodo.

They're good films but...

1. Far too drawn-out only for the purposes of making more money by gullible movie-goers.

2. The entire plot is about a ring.

3. The plot appears far too convoluted for the average man but is just the opposite.

4. The dramatic sequences (which are basically almost the entire movie) are slow beyond paint drying. I don't think that the Elven woman (Liv Tyler) or the queen? (Cate Blanchett) could've been slower if they had given them Halcion.

5. Peter Jackson must've instructed both Viggo and Elijah: "have the most dumbfounded look on your face throughout the movies as much as is humanly possible."

1. Definitely a movie for the fans of the book, which is rarely done. Why you probably feel that way.

2. See my previous post.

3. You lost me.

4. There are some slow spots, I'll give you that, especially with Blanchett, but the movies are very well paced IMO.

5. Elijah, I'll give you (again, my previous post). But on Viggo, you're just an idiot.
