I need to get a bag of crawfish through the night, am I doing it right?

I've got a bag of crawfish in a ice chest, plug open, a newspaper on top of them, and then a bag of ice on top of the newspaper, top of the ice chest is cracked open. Am I doing it right? Or should I just put them in the refrigerator for the night? Thanks.

They are fine. Small crack in the ice chest. Pull the plug and keep them out of any water.

One afternoon my boss put me in charge of three bags of crawfish that he advised were picked by virginal nuns at the peak of the full moon, and that if they not all in peak form for the client's crawfish boil the next day that, well... blah blah blah.
On advice of a wise old neighbor I tossed the bags on the grass in my back yard under a shade tree. Sprayed water from the hose on them every six hours or so (served more of an excuse to drink a beer).
The next afternoon they were all clicking away.
Boss & client happy; I still work there.

You can also put in the refrigerator and cover with wet towels or wet burlap sacks. My buddy and I bought 3 bags Saturday afternoon and didn't have the boil until Sunday. When we dumped them to purge, they sprung back to life.
