weber smokers

Weber has a smoky moutain cooker. How does this compare to a bge. How much charcoal dose it take to smoke a but for 12 hours. Does it use lump or regular.

I have one and love it. You can use lump or regular. Check out this site, lots of good info:

The Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5" changed my life.

I've cooked on BGE's before, but I'd never buy one

You can get really good at smoking if you just take the time. The site above is great as is AmazingRibs.com

The Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5" is what I have. Used charcoal lumps or briquets and wood. Love mine.

Does anyone use the Weber Kettle grils with the hinges for smoking and indirect heat cooking? I was thinking about getting this instead of a full out smoker.

Depending on your needs I'd get the smoker. You can use the smoker as a grill too.

Weber Kettle grill + The Smokenator is what I use. It works great
