| Ear Aches as a Kid? (Posted on 4/19/12 at 7:09 am)
Was thinking the other day. There’s always stuff from your childhood that you remember in more extremes than it actually was at the time being. My nephew has been having ear aches, and my sister was going on and on about how much pain he’s in. It got me thinking.
When I think back to ear aches as a kid I think of the worst freaking pain on the planet. However, was this just really the first pain kids deal with and they don’t know how to suck it up, or were those things really that damn awful? I remember screaming to the heavens during those things

I used to get them as a teenager, and it was probably the worst pain I've had to deal with so far.

They were f'n terrible and often until the tonsils got whacked. After that they were pretty rare.

About a year ago I had an ear infection. First one in about 25+ years. It was effing painful. I tried to suck it up but it doesn't just go away. It got to the point where Advil didn't do anything and I was in the emergency room at 2am taking painkillers and Benzocaine. Worst part was how long it took to clear up. Took about a week then I think it was another 2 months before I got normal hearing back.

I got them a lot when I was a kid. That shite was painful, it would keep me up all night long.

definitely had tubes in my ears as a kid. From my correspondence w/ other kindergartners at the time, i was somewhat common.

I never got them that often but I do remember getting them and I remember them being some painful stuff. It's strange that I can't remember having gotten an ear ache in my adult teenage-adult life(27 yrs old).

No, they fricking hurt. I had them when I was a kid and it was bad. I wasn't a bitch either. Fell out of a tree once and, looking back, I'm pretty sure I had cracked ribs, but I never told my parents. I remember the earaches sucking ass.

Ear Arches Suck.
Remember many a nights as a kid waking up with severe ear pain & bloody pillows. Tonsils removed, then tubes / vents were placed in ears.
Ears were fine until last year when I received my first earache as an adult and damn that shits still hurts! Dealing with another one now & can't hear dick.

Earaches hurt like fricking hell.
I had them all the time as a kid until I had tubes put in when I was 7 or 8. Worst pain I ever remember and I've broken a few bones.

thankfully i don't really remember the pain from my ear aches. I did get tubes. My son just got tubes last week as well.

I got an ear infection a month or so back.
First time I've ever taken a narcotic, in spite of opportunities in the past.
One including when I had surgical complications and had to vigoriously clean an opened wound in my side 4 inches wide and 3 inches deep (down to the abdominal facesia) every day.
Not even a Tylenol for that shite.
