What was LSU's worst sports scandal in eyes of National Media?

I am proud of fact we win so much with little “relative” scandals (i.e. Ala, Aub, UGA, FL football, UK, UGA, basketball have MUCH more NCAA and scandal issues then LSU does). We are far from perfect, but not nearly as bad as some. In any case, in eyes of National Media, what is our worst scandal. Some I thought of, sure there are more,
Recent Football issues with Hicks- our first major NCAA football violation
Dale Brown war with NCAA in 1980’s, Tito H, taping scandal by AD etc.
Dale Brown- Lester Earl issue- this seems to get a lot of play, and was major, but only one player, right?
Pokey- don’t laugh, this was worst scandal in Women’s basketball history, everything is relative, but this was a mess
Last years football issues with JJ fight, RS, Ware, TM7 suspension etc. Got a ton of press, but if we were a .500 team not sure it would have been such a big deal.
Just a few thoughts and given the time and the amount of coverage, I think the Lester Earl thing may be worst, but sure others have more informed opinions.

The Brodhead office bugging and that fiasco but social media was not in play during that time and it didn't explode like it would have today plus say what you want about Brodhead but the man knew how to hire coaches - without Brodhead the Bertman era never happens and the new Alex Box would be a pipe dream

Lester Earl worst as far as NCAA sanctions go. So that should be your tell tell sign.

Cutting Chris Garrett or releasing Eliot Porter from his scholarship so he could go to Kentucky without sitting out a year.
