My liberal friend said that he wants a socialist democracy, but also he thinks redistributing the wealth is BS. I seriously don't know what's going on in some of these peoples heads.

I love the fact that people think the top5% are "working hard" 
Yeah i say tax the shite out of the top 5%. Do you (the persons of the poli-board), actually believe that the top 5% deserve to pay less taxes, percentage, than the middle class? I say no more tax breaks for the top 1-5% or big business. give the tax breaks to the small to mid-sized businesses, middle class people who actually do work hard for what they have.

Well, I certainly don't believe its "fair" to have them pay more for the same services others pay less or none for. Taxes fund govt services. I don't expect rich people to pay more for a gallon of gas to fund roads, nor do I expect them to pay more for a postage stamp to mail a letter.
Any discussion of "fairness" that doesn't entertain the idea of equal fees for equal services is just a lot of fricking hot air.
