| What allstar rod should I put my curado on? (Posted on 4/10/12 at 11:43 am)
Going with allstar cause it's good and only $50, will be for reds and trouts. They make so many different ones (crankin stick, costal, top water special ect...)

I was less than impressed with the all stars I saw at academy the last couple times I went. Falcon Coastals are down to $90 now, not a bad deal. My brother bought a Falcon HD yesterday for $70 I liked too. ETA whatever you get, 7' M/M or M/MF

Get a 7' medium, but I'm with Boats, get you a Falcon HD for $70 and it has a lifetime warranty from Academy. Although you may want to get a MH because the Falcons run a little light.

I'm not sure if they still make it, but they used to have a "shrimp tail special." I liked it more than my loomis greenwater for tight-lining plastics

They still have it, the shrimp rail special was almost all they had there. It's a little light for my tastes but if you're only gonna throw soft plastics on it it's probably a good rod

Right now I have one on a shimano clarus 6'6 m/mf, just bought an e series off eBay. I like the shimano, I just want 7', I may just end up getting that if they still make them.

I did't see any castaway ctx in academy bit I know they have some on their website. If you can find one in 7' M that would be a good one. And they run $50 as well

I just heard about these so I haven't tried them yet, but I definately will soon. I love their fly rods and these are designed by Gary Loomis. Temple Fork fishing rods

Yea TFO rods are definitely underrated IMO. I was looking at some of their rods for a finesse setup, but don't want to spend that much. I might end up biting the bullet and just getting one.

7' Medium. Will do everything, cork, plastics, topwater, and will handle just about anything you catch. As far as brand, what's the budget?

I really would look at the TFO rods in the link that I posted. They have a 7ft in the Signature Series for $100. 6-12 lbs line

I have to be able to get my hands on it by Friday so basically it has to be available at Academy or BPS.

Falcon Coastal 7' Medium Popper. I have one in casting and they also make it in spinning. I really like it. $90. Should have it at both BPS and Academy.

I use a shrimp tail special 7 footer. It feels light because of the action, but I've caught 20+ lbs. big reds off shallow/short rigs with it. It's a great rod for the money IMO. ETA: I have a curado on it as a matter of fact.
