Wait, what?
quote:
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A Sacramento mosque broke religious barriers today when, for the first time, it allowed a Christian congregation inside to hold Easter services. Spiritual Life Center lost its lease one week ago, leaving its parishioners without a place to worship for Easter. That’s when Salam Community Center on College Oak Drive offered its mosque to the Christian church. Traditionally, non-Muslim churches are not allowed to hold meetings inside mosques. Spiritual Life’s reverend, Michael Moran, called it history in the making. “My heart is filled with generosity for the Muslim community to allow us to meet here today on Easter,” said Taylor Moran, a parishioner. “I heard people are coming from the bay area — all over the place just to witness this one-of-a-kind event. And we’re just happy to be a part of it,” said Adnan Syed.

Was the Salam Community Center promptly blown up after this event?

You're the type that blames all the black people when one does something wrong, aren't you?

This is a nice gesture by part of the Muslim community. Hopefully it's contagious.

Good for them. They had no obligation to do it, but they looked out for someone else.

Couldn't you just spin this as them being civil because they've been "Americanized?" I kid, I kid.

Yes. Islam in the West, especially the United States, has manifested itself wholly differently than the Islam of the Middle East. Did you know that the second largest Muslim country in terms of population is Indonesia? Did you know the third largest Muslim country in terms of population is India? Those countries aren't as ass-backwards as those of the Middle East, and they are in countries which are secular or allow for religious freedom. And Islam isn't the only faith that sees such sharp differences between its cultures. One can't reasonably compare Christianity in the United States to that of, say, Uganda, aside from simply comparing beliefs and texts.

Wait a second, are you suggesting problems with religions develop from the influence of surrounding cultures and aren't indicative of something wrong with the religion itself?

Not exclusively, it's obviously much more complicated than that. I think Islam is a fricking stupid heap of bull shite. Muslims, however, are people, and when in a secular society they will largely adhere to the rules and expectations thereof. The same goes for Christianity and Christians, Judaism and Jews, Buddhism and Buddhists, etc.

I don't think it is quite as complicated as you want it to be.

Similar to the communist argument back in the day, are all muslims the same? I dont believe so. I believe the theory that the media has only shined light on the radical muslims, which are in power. Also, the radical Christian has seemed to take center stage for Christianity, hence the extreme hate from Athiest.

Sounds like religion is worthless and impotent. I'm glad we all agree.
