Probably because they're probably the most unpussified country out there. They seem to very math/science oriented instead of liberal arts.

The further north and west into Europe you go, the better the genetic class of people. Hence, the better the nation. Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Denmark, the U.K, etc is just made from better stock than eastern and southern Europe.

I think a lot of it has to do with how much the U.S. rebuilt Western Germany after WWII under the Marshal Plan. Think of the countries the U.S. rebuilt: UK, France, Germany, and (to a lesser extent) Italy. Guess what the three most powerful economies in Europe are right now? Let me give you a hint, Spain and Poland aren't on the list.

Hate to hit you with all this honesty on Easter Sunday, but it is what it is. Any discussion on why Germany (and other NW European countries) is so stable and developed must accept and examine why such huge chunks of the world- Africa, Central and South America, most of Asia, Oceania, etc is so unstable.

They have a shitload of industry, no military and not much of a parasitic class. Not to mention that they got a do over after WWII.
They can't afford to allow the socialist countries in the EU to fail. They buy their products.

Aside from the ill-fated spurts of aggression and/or lack of diplomatic tact that led to Germany's decimation and capitulation on multiple occasions in the last century. Hell, they only reunified a few decades ago.

What does either have to do with their economy being "strong?"
You could argue those things are the byproducts of a strong economy, but they certainly shouldn't be seen as the cause for such, unless you're really trying to reach.
