Replacement for BF3?

Seeing that the patch crapped all over BF3 anyone have any suggestions of a game my friends and I can still play together?

Judging by your post I assume youre a shitty player so you can either sell the game and buy MW3 or continue to play BF3 in hopes of getting better and adjusting to the game. The patch made the game more balanced and any good player can adjust.
BF3 is all about knowing the maps and knowing how to use weapons that you are comfortable with. Find a gun youre good with and stick with it and try to learn the chokepoints on maps.

This. I was having serious trouble shooting with my go-to weapons. So, I started playing with new ones and I getting back to being pretty good again. The A-91 is a monster post patch btw.

I'm not sure if it was already hit, but somehow managed to hit a little bird with an RPG. Destroyed it. I know they were pissed because it was one hell of a lucky shot.

IIRC RPG and SMAW are one shot disables for the little bird now.

Pleasing to know, because I remember hitting a little-bird with a RPG and killing the pilot without destroying the helicopter. Upon closer inspection I had to kill someone who was furiously repairing the helicopter for me.
