Really, LSU has the potential to be a pretty good, consistent basketball winner. If an energetic Coach who actually knows how to coach basketball and who can recruit fairly decently and wants a job where the fan base ain't expecting a final four every season, then the LSU position can be a pretty good job.

1. LSU Basketball is not on probation and is not fixing to be on probation and has no scholarship reductions because of recent probation.

2. The world class academic and fitness programs that the football team uses is exactly the same for the basketball team.

3. Basketball facilities are pretty decent.

4. LSU is the flagship university in the state of Louisiana.

5. The SEC is not the ACC or Big EAst. That's a good thing. A solid team well coached can win quite a few games in this conference.

6. The new coach has plenty of scholarships available to recruit his own players.

7. Hickey and JOB are legit SEC players.

8. John Isaac has good upside.

9. If the new coach could light fire under Turner's butt, the guy might actually become the player we all thought he might be.

10. Malik Morgan is a solid recruit.

xxxxx

Now, we need a Coach who is willing to work his arse off, but no more than any other school would.

So, what do y'all think? Really, the job is pretty decent. It ain't Duke or Kentucky, but the good thing is, it ain't Duke or Kentucky.

We're a sleeping giant, much like UConn in the late-'80s.

LSU is a sleeping giant in hoops. I know, I seen it happen. Hell, we were just in the final four a few years ago. Beat Dukes arse.

Football, baseball, track, what more evidence does a young coach need. It's gold mine for the right guy.

Louisiana talent is picking up after a dry spell. 2013 and 2014 are big.

Maybe there is a factor that is not so positive, Louisiana is not a rich basketball talents state (unlike football). Therefore, our next coach should be able to attract star players from out of state (remember Dale Brown found Shaq in Germany and he even often had one or two players from another countries).

You mentioned the dry spell. That seems to occur more frequently in basketball than in football in this state.

I would hope the next staff does not limit its scope to Louisiana talent alone.

Did anyone note that TCU's coach left for Ohio?

LSU had a coach once who left for Kent State ... also in April, an awkward time for recruiting.

The next coach brought in someone named Pistol Pete.

Not to rain on your parade, but press' team were pretty mediocre aside from pistol.

Well upside is certainly something Issac has. What that means is he needs to improve in just about every aspect of basketball.

I hope that you are right and I am trying to not be negative just actually hoping that some of these rumors are not true. If Hickey leaves also that will be a dagger to the heart. And how do we know any of the recruits that have been mentioned will now come here not even knowing who the coach will be. I know Morgan is supposedly coming here because he wants to go to LSU not because Trent was coach but with all the turmoil and chaos can we even be certain of him?

What's Hammink to think not even having been in the states since he was a small child?

Is this our starting lineup next year?

guard - Stringer
guard - Issac
SF - Turner
Center - JOB
PF - Ludwig

Is our bench Courtney, Del Pierro and walkons?

Talk about disaster. Might make Trent's worst years look good.
