I just want to know what they add.
:pop-motherfricking-corn:
if they just add this, I'll be happy:

The internet wins again!
Seriously, I can deal with the choices presented by the endings if I get to see what the results are. It's too much to ask for a total-redo of the endings but this is more than I thought we would receive.

Here is the post from Bioware.com
An official press release went out today announcing how we are re-prioritizing the Mass Effect 3 post release content schedule to provide a more fleshed out experience for our fans. For many of you the “Extended Cut” will help answer some questions and give closure to this chapter of the Mass Effect story. Oh and it’s at no cost to you – the fan.
Here is a mini FAQ to help you understand what the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is and isn’t:
What can fans expect from the Extended Cut DLC?
For fans who want more closure in Mass Effect 3, the DLC will offer extended scenes that provide additional context and deeper insight to the conclusion of Commander Shepard’s journey.
Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future?
No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned.
What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?
BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity and closure to Mass Effect 3.
When will the Extended Cut DLC be available?
Currently the Extended Cut DLC is planned for this summer, no specific date has been announced at this point.
Why are you releasing the Extended Cut DLC?
Though we remain committed and are proud of the artistic choices we made in the main game, we are aware that there are some fans who would like more closure to Mass Effect 3. The goal of the DLC is not to provide a new ending to the game, rather to offer fans additional context and answers to the end of Commander Shepard’s story.
So there you have it. Are we proud of the game we made and the team that made it? Hell yes. Are we going to change the ending of the game? No. Do we appreciate the passion and listen to the feedback delivered to us by our fans? Very much so and we are responding.
Summer is coming…

They were trying to take the heat off their guys at PAX tomorrow. Unfortunately this may end up losing them customers regardless. Maybe the guys tomorrow announce some multiplayer DLC otherwise the endings will be the dominant topic of the "discussion".

The ending will be extended but not changed. So no the Internet didn't win. If anything fans made it worse.

I don't think so. Were they extreme? Absolutely. But to expect them to react civilly when their point of view was chastised by the people that should have defended them is ridiculous. The juvenile reaction of the gaming publications and the industry at large is worse IMO.

I'm of the mind that these endings may potentially suck less if there is more explanation.
BioWare has still lost me as a customer, but I'll take anything to reduce the suck of these endings.
And I don't see how video game fans are any worse than fans of any other type of entertainment. Only difference is, video game developers can alter the product with post-release content.
People whine, bitch, moan and second guess decisions made by football teams/coaches, authors, television show producers, etc, etc. Honestly, how is this any different?

And how did the fans make it worse?

Threating class action lawsuits based on 'false advertisement' is beyond ridiculous to me. It just reeks of entitlement.

Meh, nerds will be nerds.
I don't mind people stating their opinion but if anybody thought a class action suit was going to take off they aren't entitled, they're retarded.

By suggesting that the ending needed to be fricked with at all.

We are getting more explanation to a very vague, very plot hole ridden ending, in favor of something that will ACTUALLY FIX the plot holes.. Oh yeah, we shouldn't have ever suggested that the ending needed fixing.. nope.. never.. instead of having an extended ending that actually fixes those plot holes, we should all just take large dildo's with bioware's name plastered to the side of them, and ram them up our anuses, over and over again for the last 20 minutes of me3. Sounds good to me.
