This is more for those that have read the books than TV viewers, but this is the only place I know with ASOIAF tards like me.

If you have read all the books, this isn't a spoiler so much as what I think we may learn. Heck, i'm not sure it's a spoiler even if you just watch the show, but enter at your own risk.

I think Sweetrobin is one of Robert's bastards. I haven't seen this discussed. What we know:

-Robert's lust knows no bounds and he's been known to bed down anyone when drunk (sometimes not remembering)

-Lysa miscarried all of what we think were John Arryn's would be kids

-Lysa ultimately got knocked up with Sweetrobin under unknown circumstances

-Baelish and Lysa are some conniving fricks

-Sweetrobin is black of hair

-Around the time John Arryn was investigating the bastards (visiting whorehouses and buying armor very much out of character for him...i.e. finding all the bastards) he made plans to send the boy away to Dragonstone (perhaps to protect him as he was protecting the other bastards)

-John Arryn said "the seed is strong" which we have been led to believe referred to Gendry or the general proliferation of black haired bastards and which we have been led to believe Lysa mistakenly thought was in reference to her Sweetrobin but perhaps is in fact in reference to Sweetrobin and Arryn's realization that he's Robert's bastard (i.e. Robert's seed is strong, mine is not, and he couldn't be mine)

-Lysa and Baelish murdered Arryn right around the time Arryn would have found this out

-Lysa had a crazy irrational fear of harm coming to Sweetrobin, i.e. if anyone found out who he really was

-Baelish, who basically had the world on a platter and his choice of houses chose the Vale for his house...perhaps so he could lord over and control Sweetrobin (a potential heir)

-Baelish has an unhealthy fascination with the boy

nope try again

ETA: there are a lot of holes in your theory but I don't really feel like going through all of them.

No, if he isn't the son of Jon he is Littlefinger's.

No, if anything it is Littlefinger's bastard.

I don't think there's any chance of that. Baelish views Sweetrobin with contempt.

which would make sense that the one he does have is sickly

that's all littlefinger. Lysa is obsessed with him and will do anything he says. He is the puppet master

it was her child. We see this with Cat and Cersie as well

quote:

-Baelish, who basically had the world on a platter and his choice of houses chose the Vale for his house...perhaps so he could lord over and control Sweetrobin (a potential heir)

his plan (which is stated in the books) is to marry Sansa with Harry Hardyng and then kill Robert off so he can claim the seats in the Vale and North.

-Baelish has an unhealthy fascination with the boy

That proves nothing, and in certain cases could strengthen the argument.

It's an interesting theory and one I haven't seen discussed yet. But I'm not sure I believe in it. Robin is a frail sickly child. All of Robert's bastards seem to be big and strong like their father. Even the girls are pretty impressive, like Mya Stone. Baelish wants the boy dead so Sansa can marry the heir of the Vale to Sansa. I am thinking he wants to do this to tie Winterfell to the Vale giving him the power of the North and the East to eventually claim the throne for himself. Petyr is one of my favorite characters and I think his ultimate goal is the throne as he is so power hungry. Why else switch sides as the Lannister's were setting him up with the lands and title's of his choice?

The heir being Harry the Heir who is a descendant of the Arryn's and next in line should any harm come to Robin. I don't think anyone even realizes who Harry is, thus further proving the genius of Littlefinger

agree w/ this. Sansa's chapters were some of the more interesting in AFFC, and I was disappointed that she was left out of ADWD. She's set up to become a big player under Littlefinger, and she's no longer the naive idiot she was early on

You have to realize that AFFC and ADWD was supposed to be one book. So technically she was in both. we'll have to see what happens to her in the next book.

I realize that it was supposed to be one book. But it wasn't and dovetailed w/ AFFC toward the last third or so. Cersi had POV's in both AFFC and ADWD for instance.

Spoilers through all the books (I think)

Speaking of nerdom with ASOIAF, while rereading ACOK I came across an enteresting line in a Theon chapter that I think pretty much confirms Euron had Balon killed. Obviously, we assume that he did with the whole prophesy, but I just thought this line was another indication. Theon is thinking to himself about safety and he thinks something like "No Greyjoys are murdered on Pyke, except when it is done by their brothers. And all of my brothers are dead." I think that was a nice little line GRRM threw in there for the dedicated readers. There was a thread on the Forum of Ice and Fire that had everyone's little things they never noticed on the first read but picked up on in the second. It was pretty interesting. I thought it would be cool to hear some TD folks' examples.
