I'll honestly admit to not making up my mind.
I don't think the guy sucks, but not sure if he is our best option either.

He's proved my wrong a couple times lately, (Jones batting leadoff) and I hope he continues to do so.

Never left it. Only a dumbass would make Fire Paul posts after our right fielder lets a rolling ball get passed him. I lol'd hard at that one.

I liked our bats this weekend and I hope it keeps up. Bottom of the lineup needs to get sharper though IMO.

The team is finally hitting the ball in key moments but there are still terrible coaching decisions made every game in my eyes. Example: not having Nola bunt ross to 2nd base in the bottom of the 9th or 10th. Nola strikes out and then the next batter grounds into a DP. Terrible call. He looks better because we won but he is still making some awful calls. Maneiri saved his job by hiring Alan Dunn imo. I hope the players keep hitting the ball. I like the heart I saw this wknd!!!

I'm a Manieri supporter but I wouldn't say I'm all aboard the train until he wins some games on the road. 6-24 in the last 30 SEC road games is putrid.

I wasn't surprised to see Nola swing away. For two innings in a row we got the leadoff man on first, bunted him to second, and stranded him on base. Nola can realy be clutch, and he hit the go ahead run in earlier that game.

I didn't like the call for Hanover to bunt with 3 strikes in Fridays game. I'm assuming it was Manieri's call.

It would have been difficult for Nola to bunt Ross over since Nola was batting 5th and Ross was batting 6th.

ETA: It was the 11th, it wasn't Ross on base, and no one hit into a double play.

Other than all of that, you make a good point.

Agree. He was taking a chance on Nola and Ross driving in the run instead of depending on Hanover and Moore.

I've never gotten off, but I've said if he misses the postseason this year he should be fired and if he doesn't host a regional he should be on the hot seat next year. Still a lot of games to be played. I like the attitude of this team the past few weeks, but only time will tell if they can continue their play throughout the rest of the season.

(Jones batting leadoff)

I think overall Maneiri does a good job especailly with the pitching rotation and bullpen but I think batting Jacoby Jones lead off is not going to help this team. No doubt he is the fastest guy on the team but his BB/K ratio is not good. You need a lead off batter that gets on base, I think our lineup would benefit from Nola leading off and Jones 2nd in the lineup.

No. Why would 2 last at bat wins make me jump back aboard?

Not pinch running for Ross in the 9th (I believe.) Didn't understand that. I don't follow the team that closely but do we not have a backup catcher ?

Luckily it didn't come back to bite us in the arse. Ross was sacrificed over to 2nd but we failed to drive him in.

Its situational bunting.
Bunting will and should always have its place in baseball.
What I hate is the West Coast style offense that CPM experimented with at the begining of last season. He tried it and learned it is just not necessary to give away outs early in the game, even with the new bats and our lack of power hitters.
LSU is a team that can ignite and rally from just one hit like no one else. Especialy at home.

I assumed he didn't want to take our catcher out of the game.

Not yet. This weekend in Gainsville may change that. Win at Florida would be big.

So we have to blow out the number 3 team in the country 3 days in a row? I'm perfectly fine with walk off wins against teams like them.

in a tie game, do you really want to take out your best catcher and one of the hottest hitters on the team?

Yes. I was surprised they didn't immediately pinch run for him when he reached base. Luckily it was a terrific bunt (by Moore I believe) but so many times you see guys thrown out at second in that situation that I thought you had to PR for him.

Not pinch running for him at 2nd I was completely shocked.
