This is only up to Book 2. Please do not spoil things that happen after book 2. I hope this is a thread to compare how things are done in the show to the book 2. and what your expectations are.

I've heard they will show more of the "background" stuff more than the book: i.e., more Jamie, Robb, and Tywin, since their parts are mostly in the background.

I meant to read a "dummies" guide to CoK today, but watched the marathon instead. I'm sure it'll come back to me as the season goes on.

i wonder if the comet will play more into the show than it did in the book. it just kinda fades without a second thought.

What is Clash of Kings? Is it the same as the HBO series Game of Thrones, or is it something different?

Clash of Kings s book two of A series of Fire and Ice. They are just keeping the Game of Thrones title for the whole series.

if serious, its the second book in "A Song of Ice and Fire." HBO calls it Game of Thrones, after the first book.

its the same. Clash of kings is the name to the 2nd book which the 2nd season of game of thrones is over. Game of thrones is just the name to the first book. the book series is called a song of ice and fire.

At this point the books all mesh together for me.

I am excited about the off the page stuff though. There's a couple revelations that you wonder how that happened. I just hope it doesn't take away from the main story in the books because you could easily fill seasons with the on the page stuff.

as i read the book, it seemed really easy to shorten for tv. theres alot of things that happen inside the characters head that you can edit out.

eta: i think im most excited to see arya's story this season.

Same. That and for the rest of the series (if it ever happens that is) She's gonna be a badass.

Before I started A Feast for Crows, I read these chapter summaries to refresh. "A Wiki of Ice and Fire" has even less detailed summaries, but the site has been down the couple times I tried this weekend.

The GoT threads are dangerous for spoilers for people who have read past the TV series but not all five books.

Just really like how Davos is the best friend to Stannis but doesn't buy into all his stuff. I really like his whole backstory about how he used to be a thief and why he's called the onion knight.

Even though this Novel is longer than AGoT will this be another 10 episode season?

I don't know yet how to take the news that many scenes from the 3rd novel make their way into this series. Some of which are even seen in the season long promo's.

They needed to give Jaime more parts because the actor is so good. I think it will be fine as long as they don't waste too much time with ross the redhead on the screen.

im pretty scared of this myself, as im only 300 pages into the 3rd book. i highly doubt they bring anything major over so early though. it would be hard to make the story flow if they get things out of order.
