What a difference a night of exploding on the scoreboard can make

Rhymes .500, 2 runs, 6 rbi
Jones .355, 6 runs, 5 rbi
Ross .308, 3 runs, 4 rbi
Katz .286, 4 runs, 5 rbi

Things will start to look much better if we can keep it going tomorrow and Sunday

What would that rank us against other SEC teams in SEC play?

But are you including Rhymes? Rantards have told me time and again that we can't count him in our team batting average

We really strung the hits together tonight. I think before tonight we were 5-6 in sec team BA. Not too bad considering. But when you can hit in bunches what a difference it makes.

People still expect to see the .400 batting averages they had ten years ago. We're definitely inconsistent at the plate, but batting averages/runs are down a ton across all of college baseball.

Just saw a commercial on ESPNU for the game tonight touting LSU as one of "the best hitting teams in the sec". Who saw that coming ???

it's the extra base hits guys. we finally got some.

our d has to shape up. rf and center cost us runs. they need experience with the injury.

Foster was tuuuurble in center and at the plate last night. I expect to see some sort of change in center today but we will see I guess. Prob Jones in Center and Yokum at 2nd maybe...

Foster hit the ball hard a few times last night, and did get an rbi single with 2 outs to put us on the board

Misplayed a couple of balls, so it'll be a work in progress. And Jones is a great fit at 2nd base, so I don't see PM changing that anytime soon. Against lefties Yocom or Slaid can DH, but last night's lineup worked great and the only change should be DH until someone steps up

Arkansas pitcher today has an era of 1.25. Hopefully the gorilla ball continues.

Yeah, Foster was at the very least adequate at the plate last night. I thought he hit it hard and was selective, didn't chase bad pitches. He did have a badly played ball in CF, for sure. Can't knock his hitting last night, though.

What will Elleshoe have to bitch about now? With the TIGERS getting 17 hits Friday night, he must be miserable today.

Actually he ran down a pretty good hit in the 8th or 9th and all his ABs were hard hits, just happened to be right at people. He never looked fooled at the plate or popped out. I thought he played pretty well.
