Any suggestions on a good guide service for this Sunday within an hour's drive of New Orleans? I've got a customer driving over from Houston for the Final Four this weekend who is looking for a good trout and redfish guide. I would appreciate any suggestions. Maybe around Lafitte?

I've fished with Captain Gene Dugas in the Hopedale area several times over the last two years and have never been disappointed.

His website is ratherbe-fishing.com

He is a fireman and only guides on his off days, and stays pretty booked up. Doesn't hurt to check with him. If he's unavailable, he can hook you up with another guide out of Hopedale.

Go fish with Capt. CT out of Hopdeale/Delacroix/Shell Beach. He's a really nice guy.

If you wanted to stay really close to home, you could fish w/Dudley Vandenborre or Eric Dumas.

I've fished w/Dudley several times - he fishes out of his house in Eden Isles/Slidell.

Not sure where Eric leaves from, and I've never fished with him, but I've never heard anybody say anything but good things (as a guide and a person). We've seen him out there several times when me and a buddy of mine were fishing - he talks/tells ya whats up/all that.

Dude is great.

However,I would go to Delacroix right now.Lake is not very good for guide fishing right now.

I would recommend Capt. Jack out of Sweetwater marina right now.If y'all meed lodging theirs is top notch. Sweetwater website
All of the other guide that have been recommended in this thread are great guides and you wouldn't go wrong with any of them, but my recommendation stays the same.

Something about Capt. Jack and his wife Ms. Cindy that I believe would be a good time for your out of state clients.

Tell em Scott W. sent y'all and they'll give you a good cheap rate.

Captain CJ Rojas is in Barataria. I've killed the reds every time I've been with him.
