Arie burns former Bama commit reopened his recruitment. He said his top 5 are Miami fsu Louisville USC and LSU with the tide on the outside looking in. He is a 6'1" cornerback. Can we start to feel the recruiting tide turn from Bama to LSU cause I certainly can

Was really excited about him when he committed. Sucks that we lost him but he will be going to FSU or Miami. That's what his family and friends want anyways.

As we have seen lately....this, in some cases, really doesn't matter!

He is from Northwestern so you automatically think Canes but you cannot discount the recruiting ability of Jimbo Fisher.

This really has nothing to do with LSU-Alabama. This is a guy who wants to play closer to home which gives Miami the inside track.

I have sources who have assured me that after this past year's debacle on signing day this staff is committed to do "whatever it takes" to beat bama for the recruits it wants.

I don't know squat about Artie Burns. Why the comments about him committing because he wants to be closer to home? Where does that info come from. How do you know it doesn't have something to do with Alabama and their coaches or something else entirely?

I think "experts" with the scoop on Burns have been wary of this type of thing since his commitment. Obviously something changed but I think it has more to do with staying home than it does Alabama.

directed at entire thread:

He realized Satan is an a-hole and decommitted because of it. I have zero evidence that this is what really is going one but it makes me feel good so I will put it out there.

Now I realize the above is BS but it is based on as much evidence as the other supposed scenarios people are putting out. Speculating is fun but shouldn't there be something to back up the speculation?

Does anyone have any facts on his decommit to offer?

Plus he wants to run track in college and is considered one of the top hurdlers in the country.

LINK

Combined with the fact that UA's track team is not the best and that Saban probably told him football first, probably had him look elsewhere. Do not blame him because he is legit in track. Plus his mother really wants him close to home.

The Tide fans are speaking the truth. They've known this was possible since the day he commited. Northwestern kids rarely leave Miami unless they are package deals(Bridgewater/Rogers) or because of grades. Bama got Cooper last year but that's the exception not the norm. If Miami gets hammered then things could chanve but FSU would likely be the benefactor.

Kid is a world class hurdler as well. I've seen some track and field enthusiasts say he is the next great US hurdler. FSU, if they land him, is putting together a powerhouse sprinting program. They've got some major speed coming in or possibly coming in.

We got Cooper when he was still under the radar. He didn't really blow up until late in the recruiting cycle. He had been committed for months by then. We got lucky with him. I think we knew we would have a fight on our hands with Burns. I just didn't expect him to drop us all together at this point in the process.

Artie Burns runs 13.35 110h into a 1.4m/s wind to lead the nation by .7 seconds at Bob Hayes Invitational
Bob Hayes Boys 110H

I hope our track program can seal the deal the same way it did for Bracy and Darby's '12 recruitment.

Yeah I remember the Cooper recruitment well and the Miami fans I post with regularly were all advocates of him but also said if Miami offered he was all theirs. Didn't quite work the way they thought it would. That's why I mentioned him as being the exception. Bama doesn't miss many kids when the eval them. Cooper was another example of that. Maybe the most college ready wr in last year's class.

I think FSU's track program will continue to help in recruiting. Jimbo has experience with using that as a selling point from his time at LSU when we were in the top 2 men's track programs with Arkansas. Makes one wonder why TAM doesn't or can't use their's to their advantage. They took our spot in the track world though we're still formidable.
