Should the Saints pull out of the Hall of Fame Game

As a sign of their displeasure? I think it would be a largely symbolic gesture that would definitely get the attention of the league and media without jeopardizing any meaningful games. Do the Saints get a lot of revenue from that game that would make it cutting off their nose to spite their face?

Nah, they should just show up and then drop their pants right before kick off.
This isn't pop warner league football. You don't pull stupid shite to piss the NFL off as a team.

My favorite part is how this is bad enough to suspend our coach the entire year but apparently not bad enough to not let the Saints open the NFL season on national TV.

It is a question and makes sense on many levels. First, the Saints still have four pre-season games so it is revenue neutral. Second, the players don't like pre-season games to begin with. Third, it is really a racket designed to give the Hall of Fame $1 million bucks. Fourth, only 22,000 seats are sold so I doubt the revenue one could get from participating is all that great. Obviously the TV deal would produce the lion's share of the money.

This one reminds me of when LSU fans say we should tell the TV networks we aren't going to play a night game.

Just because we are playing in the game doesn't mean that we have to play anybody worth a crap. I say give em 4 quarters of Sean Canfield and yet to be signed undrafted fee agent D-3 running back from Mississippi college.

My thoughts exactly on this matter. The suspensions are exactly double what they should have been.

Except that it is revenue neutral because the saints still have four pre-season games if they don't play in this one. The game is played to help out the Hall of Fame and I can't find the numbers on the team's share from participation. So, it is a lot like what you said, except nothing like it at all.
Probably isn't a good idea to poke the NFL, but they basically fricked the Saints so ... whatever
