Why is Mettenberger the automatic "heir apparent"? Rivers looks just as good and has the "Rivers" pedigree. Is he getting any serious look at #1?

Wait your turn Stephen Rivers. You're a goddamn RS Freshman in the SEC, do you really think you're ready? Would rather be fed to the wolves and become a headcase like Lee in the pocket? Or would you rather wait your turn, develop more both physically/mentally and be better prepared to handle the big boys?

The only reason people were high on Rivers was due to his brother. Yes he has the size but Mett is older and proved himself in the last spring game and when he was at the junior college

Experience is a big predictor of success at the QB position, mett is clearly more prepared. However, Rivers looks good in drills, looking forward to him getting soma reps in mop up this year

I have yet to hear a report or anything that Rivers has looked better than Mett!
It does sound like he just might pan out to be a great qb though but we won't know that for a long time. What little video I have see Rivers looked like he should be third string behind JR. But like I said reports counter that. So apparently Rivers has so far looked better than JR! But yet to outshine Mett!
