An athlete from Marrero who went to West Jefferson. He has interest in LSU and has a number of current offers including A&M and TCU. What do you know about him?

One of his assistant coaches should stay off twitter.

His film is absurd. He seems to be a ridiculous athlete. He plays in a district and area that puts out a lot of D1 players. He's going to be a good one.

I thought he would be an early offer for LSU, but we're looking at taller WRs because that's where we're lacking.

Sounds like he at least went to an LSU junior day back in January and may have gone to one in February. I would think he is on their list but they probably feel they can slow play him as slot receivers usually are more common and I am sure LSU is not hurting in that area either.

One of his coaches went on Twitter the day Chuck Baker was offered and said that he guessed he just have to call Bama about his boy, referencing Lewis. Not the exact words but that's the jest. He was mad that Baker got offered before Lewis.

I personally am a big fan of Lewis and think it would be a mistake to let him OOS but if we land Diarse and Massington with Baker and whatever other guy get's slotted at wr from the athlete group then it would be an easier thing to do. I also thought Lewis would be an early offer but aside from the obvious guys I haven't been real on point with the offers instate this year. I'm getting better though with the Patterson offer. I thought he should get one after the playoffs last year.

This sounds like a player that LSU will end up offering later on. LSU probably gets Diarse. Don't know anything about Baker. Massington's recruitment could be the most interesting as I know he likes TCU but his offer list is starting to blow up. Has he visited LSU yet or is that coming up?

IIRC, he never made it either junior day due to transportation issues. It's at least one of the reasons he doesn't have an LSU offer yet. We like to offer in-state guys in person, on campus.

The head coach at West Jeff was not the least bit pleased with his assistant coach's actions.

Never made it to Boys from the Boot where Baker was offered and haven't even heard his name mentioned for the others.

I think we are looking at two more receivers, Diarse and a tall guy like Massington or the two JuCo receivers, Rumph and Leslie. I would take three if we got Diarse and Massington, then get one of the JuCos who could step in right away

I just read an article on Rivals that says Lewis was at the Boys from The Boot Junior Day.

I once read an aritcle that said childhood vaccinations cause autism. Doesn't make it true. He wasn't at the Boys from the Boot.

Sure, its possible but you have to admit that it sounds pretty conclusive unless you think the player is lying and that the Rivals LSU writer would not check his sources:

Standout wide receiver Ronald Lewis of West Jefferson got a good favorable first impression of LSU during the school's "Boys of the Boot" Junior Day on Saturday. He looks forward to learning about the school and the program in a return visit in a little over two weeks.

Lewis was among a group of the state's top members in the Class of 2013 invited for an up-close look at some of LSU's academic offerings, athletic facilities and an opportunity to continue developing relationships with the coaching staff.

"I had a lot of fun there," Lewis said. "I enjoyed the visit to the school and talking to the coaches. They were really cool and I really liked it. They showed me there's more to LSU than what people have been telling me.

Plus, here is the listing on scout that seems to corroborate this story:

Scout.com: Boys from the Boot thread
mbd.scout.com › ... › Sports + Recruiting › Boys from the Boot thread
Jan 14, 2012 – Re: Boys from the Boot thread .... West Jefferson ATH Ronald Lewis and TE Draper Riley have both confirmed with me via text that they made it ...

If I knew how to navigate scout I could probably find the original thread but their navigation search is terrible. Maybe someone else here can find the original post.

It was confirmed by LSU Scout writers that were there in attendance that he couldn't make it due to transportation issues

Another article on Rivals today says that Lewis went to an LSU Junior Day with a direct quote from him.

"Lewis has attended a junior day not too far from his home and hopes to make a couple more unofficial visits in the not too distant future.

"I went to the LSU junior day," he said. "It was really nice but they didn't talk to me about an offer or anything. I'm going to try to go to Mississippi State on March 31 and I'm going to try to go out to Arizona State sometime too.""

I am find it hard to believe he is just making this stuff up. The good news for the Aggies is he did mention A&M as a school that has caught his eye.

Scout.coms Mike Coppage (covers Louisiana) tweeted this about an hour ago I guess

quote:

In answer to a question: West Jefferson WR Ronald Lewis attended LSU's first Junior Day, but not the second

quote:

Tulane might be the early frontrunner to sign Ronald Lewis. Curtis Johnson has him as the No. 1 priority.

I don't know what LSU's sees in Baker tbh. His film is really not that impressive. If I had to trade, I'd take Lewis over him. But I guess LSU knows a lot more than just their highlight films. I said the same thing about Dural's film last year and then his Senior year film came out. He looked awesome then. We'll see how Baker progresses.
