Richt should be above Chizik, Tubbs, and Spurrier IMO. Since 2000, LSU and Georgia have been the most consistent teams in the SEC.
Actually, Chizik doesn't even belong on the list just yet. He may have won a national title, which is great, but I need to see a little more from him before I put him with the likes of Saban/Miles/Richt/Meyer/Spurrier

You spelled the Auburn's NC winner wrong. I think it's spelled C-A-M N-E-W-T-O-N

I honestly don't see how anyone could put Chizik ahead of Spurrier or even Fulmer

Miles got a free NC, 2 losses? Gimme a break

The season paved that for Miles. He didn't get a heisman QB for a season.....

LSU won the SEC that year. (as they did in 2011 FWIW). You don't think the SEC champion should have a shot to win the national title?
Regardless, that's beside the point... Chizik doesn't belong in the "elite SEC coaches" category just yet. He might at some point, but certainly not yet by virtue of two crappy seasons and one national title season.

Agreed. I'm tempted to put petrino ahead of him

Plus, all the major schools had two losses at the end of the season. Should we just have not awarded a trophy that year?
I really don't understand the "2 losses" criticism (by a lot of people) of our 2007 NC, given the context.

I think the argument is that most years a 2 loss team wouldn't have gotten the chance to play in the nc game. Its not that lsu didn't belong there

OK, let's look at that. Ohio State was in with one loss, and all the other major contenders had two losses (Kansas had one loss but a terrible SOS, IIRC). So, some two-loss team would've got in no matter who it was.
So what if most years a two-loss team wouldn't have got in? That's the way it was in 2007.

What's he done outside of that? 14-10?
