Does Trent simply need to "get in" to keep his job next season?

Would you be satisfied with an 8 to 10 seed and a first rd exit?

with that team he'll have, he should be a little better than that.

0% chance he gets fired if he makes the tourney.

I'd take making the tourney, results in the tourney with this team shouldn't really matter that much IMO, with the level the program is at.

looking at what other teams lose, I think LSU is an 11-12 win SEC team next year but I guess you never know...

Is the SEC ever going to change up scheduling now that they got rid of the divisions? It seems dumb to keep your 2 games vs. Your division when there isn't one anymore. Although playing the "west" twice is a lot easier on LSU than potentially playing some east teams twice.

I'll def take it but I just feel like we could do better than that even. If we get Coleman, Hammink, and a nice big expectations will be through the roof.

I guess they'll try to keep it the same. Even without divisions, it saves money playing by keeping the teams closer together and limiting travel expenses.

Is he fired if they don't make the tourney?

Would another NIT berth satisfy the powers to be?

I think with Mizzou and A&M coming in there will be even fewer home and homes. We probably won't play all of the other 6 'west' teams twice.

I'm not sure about what the other teams have coming back but Kentucky will be an all new team that will likely be almost as talented as this one. Mizzou will return only 2 guys but they'll have some veteran transfers and talented frosh coming in.

i think next year is the 'tourney or bust' year everyones been waiting for. anyone calling this season tourney or bust was getting a little ahead of themselves. hope we can make a sweet 16 push but we need a strong close in this recruiting class first.

Do we really need to be discussing this now?

coming off of last year he should have made the tourney this year. No returning player got better. I dont know how many years we are going to speculate on this

Yeah going into this season everyone said he should make the tourney or finish with a winning record in the SEC. FAIL

But some still view this season as a sign of progress mainly because the previous 2 were so abysmal.

Aleva's bar for TJ is somewhat low. Just improve from the previous year- Tj did that

He gets next year- IF Aleva gives TJ another extension before the end of next season Aleva should be fired.

TJ MUST produce next year- NCAA tourney should be the minimum- nothing less
