Officials wearing Karl Hess initials on shoes for ACC Tournament Opener

I know this is old news but don't you think this act is a little overboard? Considering the way the NC State/UNC game ended, it's very easy for someone to put blame on the officials and point to this incident as proof. I personally don't know what to think about it, other than it's kind of odd.
What does the MSB think about it? I know there will be bias, but what are your thoughts?
(For those who don't know, ACC official Karl Hess ejected two former NC State players from a game in which they were attending as fans. He didn't follow correct procedures but was not punished for his act. He was asked to officiate the ACC Tournament but chose to officiate the Big East Tournament instead.)

Yep I've been hearing the same thing...rumors are that Adam Smith of the Burlington Times News tweeted it during the game. He was sitting on press row right there by the bench.
I don't know all the details, but if an official really told that to Gottfried then there are some issues with the ACC.

b/c refs are regional no such thing as conference refs
The BE and ACC use the same guys. The BE and B1G and ACC and SEC

He's still an "ACC official" though, but it's moot point with what happened in the tournament.

people use of this conference or that conference is trying to screw us or these ACC refs always call is for UNC or Duke

I know, but what conferences Hess works in has nothing to do with the happenings in the ACC tournament.

They are regional refs but Hess officiates many ACC games and has friends that he refs with who also refs ACC games.
ACC refs is a misnomer that you are picking on but the point of their inadequacy remains.

Besides, use some punctuation or correct grammar.

That's because basketball officials are some one the whiniest, self-important counts on the face of the earth.

Hess was asked to do the ACCT (no idea why) and declined, so I'm not sure why they're "showing support" for a guy who made the decision not to do the tourney himself. It wasn't like he was banned. Basketball officials have tried to become TOO much a part of the game recently.

Because frick state, that's why

I was expecting that maybe he has done the tournament 15-20 straight years or something and that they were doing it because of a long tenure or streak...but no, he has done it the last 3 years.
It's very odd for the officials to do this. I'm used to using initials in memory of someone who is ill or has passed away. It would be like you or me putting our co-worker's initials on our shoe after our co-worker screwed up and didn't show up the next day.

State got hossed last night and the refs that have hess' intials on their shoes should reprimanded.
