I already have a Ps3 but my brother-in-law is giving me his extra 360 with a wireless controller. I really can't afford to buy games for both ps3 and 360 so I'll probably still buy multi platform games for my ps3

but what 360 exclusives should I pick up. I'm not really familiar with any. are there any really good ones for 360? TIA

Gears of War and Halo are the only 360 exclusives that stand out to me. If you are into RPG's, the Fable series.

List of 360 exclusives.

I'll definitely add you when I get it set up tomorrow anti

my brother-in-law said it came with a copy of mw3 so I'm definitely gonna check it out and see if I find it better

Would be the bigger online community, MP wise. Never played the campaign.

The latest one is actually the anniversary version of the first Halo, but the MP is still Reach with new maps.

ok so it's one of the fat ones. I got it plugged up but didn't realize it had to be wired to get internet so I'll have to find a long one before getting online.

it works and everything now, but it's kinda loud when it runs. I know these fat ones are known for the RROD or whatever. is there anything I can do to prevent that? this thing is already a few years old, how much longer can I really expect it to last?

Install games to the HD to make it quiet and extend how long it will last. Assuming you have a 20GB HD that is about two games.

Gears of war series is pretty legit if you are into 3rd person over the shoulder shooters, with a "end of the world" type storyline

so I guess just erase every time I want to play a new game? I guess that actually wouldn't be too much of a pain in the arse since I'll probably only play 2 games on there halo and mw3

If you decide to get the Fable series, I would recommend getting only 1 and 2. Fable 1 was great, 2 was alright, but 3 was really disappointing, imo.

To help prevent rrod...

Make sure your Xbox gets plenty of cold air and circulation. Don't cram it into the corner of a crowded entertainment center. Let it breathe

Also don't accidently leave it on overnight cause you fall asleep after smoking too much weed

I actually recommend spending the $20-30 on the intercooler.

It extended the life of my original Xbox by 2-3 years.

It's an external fan that plugs into the xbox. It helps to divert the flow of hot air away from the machine.

The one I have for my new Xbox actually remains on for a few minutes after I turn it off or runs until it determines the temp has dropped low enough. At least I think that's what it does.

also, DO NOT move the console AT ALL while running a game. that laser will frick up any and all discs in its path if you do.
